20200304619 · 2020-09-24 ·

Head-mounted display systems and methods of operation that allow users to couple and decouple a portable electronic device such as a handheld portable electronic device with a separate head-mounted device (e.g., temporarily integrates the separate devices into a single unit) are disclosed. The portable electronic may be physically coupled to the head-mounted device such that the portable electronic device can be worn on the user's head. The portable electronic device may be operatively coupled to the head-mounted device such that the portable electronic device and head mounted device can communicate and operate with one another. Each device may be allowed to extend its features and/or services to the other device for the purpose of enhancing, increasing and/or eliminating redundant functions between the head-mounted device and the portable electronic device.

A driving method of a privacy apparatus is provided. The privacy apparatus includes a light-transmissive layer and a plurality of electrically switchable optical structures. The light-transmissive layer includes a plurality of trenches not crossing over each other. The electrically switchable optical structures are respectively disposed in the trenches. An extension direction of each of the trenches is inclined relative to an edge of the privacy apparatus on a plane of the privacy apparatus. The driving method of the privacy apparatus includes applying a driving electric field to a part of the trenches to render a part of the electrically switchable optical structures light-transmissive, and maintaining the other part of the electrically switchable optical structures opaque. Besides, a privacy apparatus is also provided.

A device forming a double display consisting of a panel (1), to the front face of which images (g, d) have been added, drawn or formed in a similar way in the form of strips, the panel being made from a material with a first hardness, the panel being folded in a horizontal direction so that it is corrugated, characterised in that the device also comprises a succession of ribs (4g, 4d) of trapezoidal cross section, the ribs extending to the rear face of the panel, the ribs being made from a material of a second hardness, the second hardness being lower than the first hardness.

Bus duct with a curved viewing window assembly
10732421 · 2020-08-04 · ·

A curved viewing window assembly for an electrical assembly having a non-flat curved surface such as an isophase bus duct or electrical motor housing, includes a curved lens assembly having a lens section disposed between a curved front grille and a curved rear grille and is transparent to infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), or visible light. The curved lens assembly is attached to an aperture disposed through a curved wall of the bus duct at a point proximate to the location in which electrical equipment within the bus duct is to be monitored. Disposed through each at the front and rear grilles is a plurality of viewing apertures permitting the IR, UV, or visible light from the electrical equipment or components to pass therethrough. A curved door is pivotably attached to the front grille to allow selective access to the curved infrared viewing window.

Sign and display systems

Sign and display systems including a faceplate, lens, backing plate, and at least one magnet are described. In some embodiments, the faceplate includes a viewing aperture and the back of the faceplate includes a recess in which the at least one magnet is mounted. The recess in the faceplate is configured to receive the lens and backing plate. In some embodiments, the faceplate includes two recesses in the back surface, where the first level recess is configured to receive a backing plate and the second lower level recess is configured to receive the lens. The at least one magnet can be mounted in either a first recessed surface of the first level recess or the backing plate. When the lens and backing plate are positioned in the faceplate, the one or more magnets exert a force to secure the faceplate, lens, and backing plate together.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO PROVIDE VIEWS OF A VIRTUAL SPACE

Systems and methods configured to provide views of a virtual space are presented herein. A display device may include a display screen, one or more sensors, and/or other component. The one or more sensors being configured to generate output signals conveying gaze information including one or more of a viewpoint, a gaze direction, and/or other information. An instance of a virtual space may be executed to determine a view of the virtual space based on the gaze information and/or other information. The view of the virtual space may correspond to a field of view within the virtual space determined based on the gaze information. The instance of the virtual space may be presented on the display screen according to the determined view of the virtual space.
