20220283440 · 2022-09-08 ·

A system, method, and device for configuring an optical aiming device for ballistic drop compensation (BDC). The optical aiming device can include a housing with a reticle pane defining a reticle display field viewable by a user and indicating a zero point, the housing further including a plurality of axially spaced lenses and defining an optical path therethrough. In various embodiments the system includes a display device configured to project an image generated from a display, a processor, and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium. The computer readable data storage medium can include instructions executable by the processor to receive a first set of ballistics input data indicating a first type of ammunition, determine a BDC pattern including at least two holdover marks corresponding to at least two ranges for the first type of ammunition, and project the BDC pattern onto the reticle display field.

Position adjustment in holographic sight

A holographic sight comprises a base, a support member attached to the base and extending upward therefrom, and a unitary optical component carrier formed with the support member. The support member is flexible and the unitary optical component carrier moveable in horizontal and vertical directions relative to the base. A bridge is attached to the base and forms an opening into which a portion of the unitary optical component carrier extends. A projection is coupled with the bridge and protrudes into the opening to abut the unitary optical component carrier. Extending the projection into the opening increases pressure applied by the projection to the optical component carrier. The increased pressure causes the unitary optical component carrier to be displaced.

Optical system with cant indication

An electronic indicator on a see-through optical scope indicates whether an optical system is canted. The indicator may include illuminable visual indicators positioned on opposite sides of a field of view through the optical scope. The indicator may be visual, haptic, or aural. The visual indicator may include one or more LEDs positioned on the periphery of the field of view, and may be optically coupled to an appropriate position on the face of the reticle using a suitable waveguide. The LEDs are coupled to a microprocessor which is, in turn, coupled to a solid-state electronic inclinometer that is incorporated into the internal structure of the optical system. The microprocessor is configured to selectively illuminate one or more of the visual indicators based on the output of the inclinometer, thereby indicating how the reticle is canted, if at all.

SIGHTING ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING A PRISM SYSTEM WITH A FLAT TOP SURFACE
20220026174 · 2022-01-27 ·

A sighting arrangement, comprising an illuminated mark and a prism system consisting of a first prism and a second prism which are connected to each other via a dichroic reflector surface, the prism system comprising a sight axis and a superimposition axis for imaging the illuminated mark onto a sighted target. The bottom surface, via which the imaging beam path emanating from the illuminated mark is coupled into the prism system, and the convexly curved mirror surface, which is absolutely necessary for collimating the imaging beam path, are located on the same side of the prism system, namely on the mounting side facing a device on which the prism system is mounted as intended. As a result, the prism system has a flat top surface which does not limit the field of view section determined by the visible edges of the prism system.
