A head worn display can be designed with an integrated camera for obtaining an image of a scene, transmitting the obtained image to a processor, modification of the image in substantially real time by the processor, and displaying the modified image on a display device worn by the individual. According to embodiments of the invention various methods are provided for adjusting the position of the displayed video in the horizontal left/right, vertical up/down, and horizontal in/out, and angular up/down dimensions relative to the individual's eyes.

Microphone system for head-mounted wearable device

A head-mounted wearable device (HMWD) includes a plurality of microphones. These microphones may be used to acquire audio data produced by the user, such as speech, or sound from the ambient environment. In one implementation, a first air conduction (AC) microphone is emplaced at a bridge of the nose of the HMWD, a second AC microphone at a hinge, and a bone conduction (BC) microphone is positioned at a distal end of one of the temples of the HMWD. For example, the BC microphone may be located in the left temple proximate to the apex of the user's ear. A semi-rigid structure may provide mechanical coupling between the user's head and the BC microphone.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENHANCING VR EXPERIENCES

A method and apparatus for enhancing a VR experience for a user of a VR headset and HMD. The method includes increasing craniofacial contact of the VR headset and HMD to the user using a face conforming structure. The method also includes maintaining a sense of proprioception of the user via added support for the VR headset and HMD from the front of the user's face using the face conforming structure. The VR headset and HMD is stabilized to the face of the user in all directions using the face conforming structure by allowing the VR headset and HMD to rest on and deform or be supported by the face conforming structure.

Lenses may be mounted to eyewear using several techniques. A first technique involves the use of a lens unit that is mounted to a frame at a frame bridge. The lens unit includes a lens frame split proximate to the frame bridge, allowing the frame to be opened and a lens inserted. A second technique involves a mechanical interference arrangement that allows a lens to be inserted into, and retained by, a frame groove in a front frame. An inner cover may then be affixed to the front frame to enclose electronics in the front frame.

SPECTACLE FRAME WITH CUT RIMS AND ATTACHABLE BRIDGE, KIT OF PARTS AND EYEWEAR

Disclosed is a spectacle frame including a pair of lens holding rims interconnected by a bridge, each rim being encircling and holding a lens in a central aperture of the rim, each rim being linked laterally to a temple, each rim having at least one cut allowing expansion of the central aperture or retraction and closure of the central aperture by closing the cut. The spectacle frame further includes a lock allowing closure and locking the cuts of the rims. The bridge attaches to the rims to allow attachment of one bridge chosen among bridges having different shapes and/or sizes and/or decorations to adapt the spectacle frame to different morphological features of wearers and/or to choices of the wearers, and wherein the rims and the bridge includes complementary bridge connector to attach and connect the bridge to each rim. A kit of parts and an eyewear are also disclosed.

A nose pad structure suited for a head-mounted device is provided. The nose pad structure includes a first nose pad and a second nose pad. The first nose pad has a first fixing portion assembled to the head-mounted device and a first free portion. The second nose pad has a second fixing portion assembled to the head-mounted device and a second free portion being movably overlapped with the first free portion. When a user wears the head-mounted device, the first and the second nose pads cover and contact the user's nose, and an overlapping status of the first and the second free portions is adjusted according to the user's nose shape.

Safety Eyewear for Reclining and Supine Positions

Safety eyewear that is particularly suitable for patients undergoing medical or dental procedures in reclining or supine positions is disclosed. The safety eyewear has a frame configured to rest over a face. The frame includes a pair of lenses separated from one another by a bridge. The lenses may be configured to block certain harmful wavelengths of light used in dental curing lights, patient overhead lights, and lasers. One of both of the frame and the pair of lenses may curve in a posterior direction along inferior edges so as to terminate closely proximate to the face. Left and right temple arms extend generally straight in the posterior direction from respective left and right sides of the frame. A nasion pad is coupled to the bridge of the frame and extends in the posterior direction from the bridge to make contact with the patient's nasion.
