The thermal coupling can be thermally coupled to the heat transfer device at a second portion of the eyewear body. The elongate heat transfer device can be disposed within the eyewear body and can be thermally coupled to the heat source and the thermal coupling. The heat transfer device can extend lengthwise between the heat source and the thermal coupling to transfer heat from the heat source to the thermal coupling.

The device is a unitary piece having no fasteners or moving parts, such that the device easily attaches and detaches to the frame. The arm portion includes a slot that is configured to receive the arm section of the frame. The arm may slide or frictionally snap into the slot. An extension portion extends from the arm portion to partially wrap around the ears, retaining the frame on the ears during rigorous physical activity and while sweating around the ears.

The brow piece is configured to position the lens in front of the eyes of a user during use. The two temple assemblies are coupled to the brow piece by two hinges. Each of the temple assemblies are configured to extend along a side of a head of the user during use. Each of the temple assemblies includes a temple substrate and a wave-shaped insert. The wave-shape insert includes at least one horizontal span and at least one vertical portion. The horizontal span is configured to dictate the deflection of a first portion of the temple substrate and enable rotation of the first portion of the temple substrate about the horizontal span. The vertical portion is configured to dictate a torsional stiffness of a second portion of the temple assembly.
