FLAT FOLD EYEGLASSES AND CASE
20200012122 · 2020-01-09 · ·

Eyeglasses are provided capable of folding into a substantially flat configuration that may be fitted inside a compact case or other narrow space. The eyeglasses may include a frame configured to hold one or more lenses and defining an imaginary plane, at least one temple piece, and at least one hinge connecting the at least one temple piece to the frame, wherein the hinge is configured to rotate the at least one temple piece between a first position extending substantially perpendicular to the imaginary plane defined by the frame, and second position extending substantially parallel to the imaginary plane.

System and method for protective eyewear

A flip-to-wear eye shield system is provided. By integrating a hinge into elements of the frame and/or the lens, the eye shield can be manufactured and assembled more quickly and with less costs. In an embodiment, a lens may click (or snap) onto molded posts of a frame in a substantially flat position. An integrated living hinge in the frame may bend to allow the lens to flip downwards toward the frame to a second position for use. The posts may also click (or snap) into place in an underside of the frames. In another embodiment, a lens may click (or snap) onto molded posts of a flame in a substantially flat position. An integrated living hinge, formed by notches in the lens, may allow the lens to bend to flip downwards to the frame to a second position for use. A dispenser allows storing the eye shields in the flat position and dispensing in the second position for use.

Protective glasses for fitting on a protective helmet, and protective helmet provided with the protective glasses

Protective glasses include a curved lens panel for protecting the eyes. Two side pieces have an inner end articulated on a helmet and an outer end articulated on the lens panel. The glasses are pivotable from a protective position to a stowed position. Each side piece includes a glasses arm and a glasses-carrying arm. The glasses arms are curved in the direction of the lens panel and adjoin the lens panel tangentially. The glasses arms have axes of articulation that are not aligned with one another. In the stowed position, the protective glasses are in a helmet and can be moved into, and out of, the stowed position using one hand, without length of the side pieces or tilt of the lens panel in relation to the side pieces being changed. One-handed actuation of the glasses is very advantageous in forestry work, in the industrial sector or for climbing purposes.

SPECTACLE FRAME WITH TEMPLE ORIENTATION ACCORDING TO A PLURALITY OF PLANES
20190361265 · 2019-11-28 ·

A spectacle frame including a front face for supporting the lenses and temples connected to the front face by means of hinges, each including an attachment member, respectively rigidly connected to the front face and to the temples, each receiving a hinging member, having its free end provided with a hinge pin, said hinge pins being perpendicular to each other. The attachment members are hollow and define a cylindrical sheath. The hinging members each include a rod, intended to be received in the respective sheath, one of the ends of the rod being provided with an abutment and the other end being provided with said hinge pin, each of the rods receiving a sliding ring submitted to the action of a spring bearing against the abutment, said ring being rigidly connected to the corresponding attachment member near the free end thereof. The hinge pins of the hinging members are rigidly connected to each other by means of a connection member.

Eye wear visually enhancing laser spot and laser line
20190346604 · 2019-11-14 ·

An eye wear comprises an optical filter disposed in front of an eye. The optical filter has a transmittance function of wavelength comprising a transmittance peak having a peak transmittance and a transmittance bandwidth. A transmittance outside the transmittance peak is at a lower level transmittance, wherein a ratio of the lower level transmittance to the peak transmittance is less than unity. The transmittance peak is at a central wavelength of a laser that emits laser light forming one of a laser spot and a laser line. The transmittance bandwidth is larger than a bandwidth of the laser light emitted by the laser. The laser spot or the laser line formed by the laser light emitted by the laser is viewed through the eye wear.

Apparatus that improves vision

An apparatus includes a frame, a left temple, a right temple, a left end piece, a right end piece, a left hinge, and a right hinge. The frame includes a left side and a right side and the frame may support a plurality of lens. The frame of the apparatus that improves vision may be tilted to provide the lenses at varying angles and lock into place via a latching mechanism. The effect of the tilted lens provides significantly increased clarity and definition of vision, with no expensive custom lenses or magnification.

ARTICULATED TEMPLE FOR EYEWEAR
20190324288 · 2019-10-24 ·

An articulated temple includes a temple arm, a temple end piece, and a hinge having a first hinge leaf coupled to the temple arm and a second hinge leaf coupled to the temple end piece. A pivot joint having a pivot axis is formed between the first and second hinge leaves. Each of the temple arm and temple end piece has a top curved edge. The top curved edges are concentric about the pivot axis provided by the hinge to enable one of the curved edges to move relative to the other curved edge along a portion of a circular path when the temple end piece is pivoted relative to the temple arm about the pivot axis. An eyewear including the articulated temple is disclosed.

One-hand operated glasses

The glasses, such as spectacles, comprise at least a frame (20) and two arms (30) that are mounted on said frame via hinge units (50). The glasses further comprise a movable element (60) on said frame that generates the folding and unfolding of both said arms together with one single hand.

Slip-resistant eyewear system

A slip-resistant eyewear system comprising an eyewear frame generally comprises a nosepiece comprising a nosepiece material configured to couple to a bridge of an eyewear frame. The frame comprises first and second hinges coupled to the eyewear frame which are also coupled to first and second spring-loaded tension adjusters. First and second bows are coupled to first and second tension adjusters. A unitary eyewear retainer comprises a first end configured to couple to the first bow and a second end configured to couple to a second bow such that a tension is maintained on the unitary eyewear retainer when the unitary eyewear retainer extends around a back of a head of a user.
