METHOD FOR PRODUCING OPTICAL MEMBER AND OPTICAL MEMBER
20210405264 · 2021-12-30 · ·

Provided is a technique by which an optical member is marked without degrading the quality of the optical member. The optical member is produced through a removing step (S108, S113) of partially removing a low refractive index layer, which is the outermost layer of a multilayer structure in which the low refractive index layer and a high refractive index layer are layered on each other, by performing non-heating processing on an antireflection film that is formed to cover an optical surface of an optical base member and has the multilayer structure, through irradiation with an ultrashort pulse laser beam so as to expose the high refractive index layer.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL MEMBER AND OPTICAL MEMBER

A film forming step of forming a thin film on an optical surface of an optical substrate, the optical surface having a curved surface shape, and a removal step of partially removing the thin film on the optical surface to perform patterning of the thin film. In the removal step, the thin film is removed by being irradiated with a laser beam.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INDICATING THE TIME ELAPSED SINCE THE OCCURRENCE OF A TRIGGERING EVENT
20210389731 · 2021-12-16 ·

Described are systems and methods which can be used to indicate the period of time elapsed since the occurrence of a triggering event. More particularly, this application relates to systems and methods which can be used to visually indicate the time period elapsed since an article has been removed from its packaging. The system can include an indicator disposed on or within the article and a trigger disposed within the receptacle and in contact with the indicator. The article may be enclosed within a sealable receptacle of the package. The indicator is responsive to a change in a concentration of the trigger in contact with the indicator. The removal of the article from the receptacle can induce a change in concentration of the trigger in contact with the indicator. The change in the concentration of the trigger can induce a change in color in the indicator. The color change indicates a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the article has been removed from the receptacle. The predetermined period of time is from 30 minutes to 30 days, such as from 1 hour to 30 days.

Glasses with selectively adjustable optical power lenses

A method of fabricating a lens element for an adjustable power lens of the kind comprising two lens elements that are slidable relative to one other in a direction transverse the optical axis of the lens and have respective lens surfaces that are shaped to act together to form a corrective lens, the power of which varies according to the relative disposition of the two lens elements, the method comprising the steps of forming a lens puck having two opposite faces, which are shaped to form opposite lens surfaces of one of the lens elements of the adjustable power lens, the puck having at least one alignment feature, and thereafter edging the puck to a desired eye shape with reference to the alignment feature.

SPECTACLE LENS PRODUCTION METHOD AND SPECTACLE LENS
20220206318 · 2022-06-30 · ·

A method for producing a spectacle lens 2 including a base portion 2 that is made of a resin material and includes a convex object-side face and a concave eyeball-side face, and an optical element 12 that is made of a material different from the material for forming the base portion and is embedded in the base portion, is described. The method includes: arranging an optical element in a cavity 28 of a mold including a first mold part 20 and a second mold part 24 that can be opened and closed; introducing a resin material for forming a base portion of the spectacle lens into the cavity of the mold; obtaining the spectacle lens by curing the resin material that is a resin for forming the base portion; disassembling the mold; and detaching the spectacle lens from the mold.

OLEIC ACID-RELEASING CONTACT LENS

An oleic acid-releasing contact lens is described as well as method of manufacturing the same. The oleic acid-releasing contact lens contains oleic acid releasably adhered to the polymeric lens body, and releases from 2 μg to 25 μg oleic acid after 1 hour in a release media. The oleic acid-releasing contact lens can be comfortably worn by a symptomatic contact lens wearer, and can increase the duration of comfortable lens wearing time and/or reduce lens awareness events in a symptomatic contact lens wearer.

An eye-strain reducing lens is characterized by an x-y-z coordinate system, and includes a distance-vision region, having a negative distance-vision optical power, configured to refract a light ray, directed by a source at a distance-vision region point at a distance-vision x-distance from a center of the coordinate system, to propagate to an eye-center-representative location; and a near-vision region, having a near-vision optical power that matches the distance-vision optical power within 0.5 D, configured to refract a light ray, directed by the source at a near-vision region point at a near-vision x-distance from the center of the coordinate system, to propagate to an x-z location of the eye-center representative location at a corresponding y height; wherein the near-vision x-distance is smaller than the distance-vision x-distance.

Method for permanent visible marking of an optical article and marked optical article

Disclosed is a method for marking an optical article coated with an interference coating including at least two layers, an inner layer and an outer layer, and having reflection coefficient Re; by exposure of the inner layer, at a marking point, by way of a laser beam at a marking wavelength, in such a way as to ablate the inner layer and any layer further away from the substrate; the ablated area having a reflection coefficient Rm different from Re by at least 1%; the inner layer absorbing the marking wavelength to a greater degree than any layer further away from the substrate. Also disclosed is an optical article coated with an interference coating having at least two layers, an inner layer and an outer layer, the article including a marking pattern formed by local absence of layers.

METHOD FOR DECORATING AN OPHTALMIC ARTICLE AND RELATED OPHTALMIC ARTICLE
20230273462 · 2023-08-31 · ·

The invention relates to a method for decorating an ophthalmic article. The method contains a step of providing an ophthalmic article having a substrate with a first outer surface intended to be oriented towards the field of view of a user. The first outer surface has at least one decoration zone outside the central vision zone of the ophthalmic article and has topographic structures of at least one dimension of length greater than or equal to 1 mm for forming a decorative pattern.
