LENS AND HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY APPARATUS
A head-mounted display apparatus-includes a lens frame, a lens, and a display module. Both the lens and the display module are disposed on the lens frame. The lens includes a first part and a second part. The first part is adjacent to the second part. The first part is configured to transmit ambient light. The second part is configured to transmit the ambient light and display light emitted by the display module. A ratio of the transmittance of the second part to the transmittance of the first part is within a threshold range. In one embodiment, the threshold range may be between 0.5 to 1.5.
EYEGLASS LENS, EYEGLASSES, AND EYEGLASS LENS MANUFACTURING METHOD
An eyeglass lens (1) includes a polarizing part (10) and a non-polarizing part (20). The polarizing part (10) includes a base part (11) and a polarizing sheet (12). The non-polarizing part (20) is adjacent to the polarizing part (10). The polarizing sheet (12) is in face contact with the base part (11) in a non-separable manner. The non-polarizing part (20) has a thickness (W1) greater than a thickness (W2) of the base part (11). The base part (11) and the non-polarizing part (20) form a light transmitting member (2) that is a single solid member. The light transmitting member (2) is made of a colored resin.
PHOTOCHROMIC DYE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL OPTICAL ELEMENT
An optical element includes a first boundary layer and a second boundary layer. A solution is disposed between the first boundary layer and the second boundary layer. The solution includes liquid crystals co-mingled with oblong photochromic dye molecules. The photochromic dye molecules are matched to the liquid crystals to offset a decrease in absorption of the photochromic dye molecules in response to a temperature increase of the photochromic dye molecules.
STICK ON DEVICES USING PERIPHERAL DEFOCUS TO TREAT PROGRESSIVE REFRACTIVE ERROR
An apparatus to treat refractive error of an eye comprises an optic comprising an optical zone and a peripheral defocus optical structure to form images of a plurality of stimuli anterior or posterior to a peripheral portion of a retina of the eye. In some embodiments, the peripheral defocus optical structure located outside the optical zone. In some embodiments, the peripheral defocus optical structure comprises optical power to focus light to a different depth of the eye than the optical zone. In some embodiments, the optic comprises one or more of a lens, an optically transparent substrate, a beam splitter, a prism, or an optically transmissive support.
CONTACT LENS AND PRODUCT THEREOF
A contact lens includes a central region, an annular region and a peripheral region. The central region includes a central point of the contact lens. The annular region symmetrically surrounds the central region. The peripheral region symmetrically surrounds the annular region. The peripheral region includes at least one color pattern portion. The annular region includes at least one power of critical point.
Enhanced optical and perceptual digital eyewear
Improved wearable optics is disclosed. The wearable optics comprises a frame member and a lens. The wearable optics also includes circuitry within the frame member for enhancing the use of the wearable optics. A system and method in accordance with the present invention is directed to a variety of ways to enhance the use of eyeglasses. They are: (1) media focals, that is, utilizing the wearable optics for its intended purpose and enhancing that use by using imaging techniques to improve the vision of the user; (2) telecommunications enhancements that allow the eyeglasses to be integrated with telecommunication devices such as cell phones or the like; and (3) entertainment enhancements that allow the wearable optics to be integrated with devices such as MP3 players, radios, or the like.
Spectacle lens comprising an activable optical filter
A spectacle lens including an activable optical filter, the activable optical filter being configured to be actively switched between at least three configurations, wherein in the first configuration, the color perception of the spectacle wearer is unaltered, in the second configuration the activable optical filter provides a specific filtering function, in the third configuration vision of the spectacle wearer is protected against glare.
OPTICAL LENS DESIGN FOR FLATTENING A THROUGH-FOCUS CURVE
Described herein are systems and/or methods for forming an ophthalmic lens. An example method may comprise a step of determining a power profile based on a power profile function defined by a base optical power, an amount of spherical aberration at a radial distance from a geometric center of the lens, and a bump function. The example method may comprise a step of adjusting the power profile based at least on minimizing a shape metric of a through-focus curve.
