Eyewear article with interference filter
10921502 · 2021-02-16 · ·

An eyewear article for wearing outside of the human eye includes a flexible, transparent interference filter film with a multi-layer structure, wherein the interference filter film includes at least one filter layer with a layer thickness dimensioned to reduce a transmission of light of a selected range of wavelengths by optical interference. The interference filter film may have a static cling surface configured for removable attachment to a lens surface or an attachment layer affixed to the interference filter film for temporary or permanent attachment to a lens surface, for example by adhesion. The interference filter film may alternatively be bonded to an optical lens or form a separate structure for mechanical or magnetic mounting on eyeglasses.

Spectacle lens

Provided is a spectacle lens (1) comprising one multilayer film (3a, 3b) on each surface of a plastic lens base material (2), wherein by setting an average reflection rate in at least the 530-570 nm wavelength range to 2.5-5.5% in at least one of the multilayer films (3a, 3b) disposed on a surface of the plastic lens base material, it is possible to attain, in dim environments, an improvement in vividness and brightness in visibility of objects, particularly those that are red in color, as well as an improvement in visibility of the white in white computer screens and the like, and the lens is thereby suitable for the eyes of elderly people.

Laser protection eyewear lenses

A laser protection eyewear lens includes a lens substrate comprising an embedded wavelength filter having a first filter function, and a multi-layer dielectric filter applied to at least one of an inside and an outside surface of the lens substrate that comprises a second filter function having at least one center wavelength and bandwidth. The first filter function of the embedded wavelength filter and the second filter function of the multilayer dielectric filter produce a combined filter function that attenuates light reflecting off the multi-layer dielectric filter.

Chromatic polarization filtering that is input specific

Optical filters that enhance image quality by exploiting differences in the wavelength dependence of the spectral power distribution (SPD) and the degree of polarization between elements in a scene in order to preserve, and more preferably enhance, color-contrast between one or more salient objects in the scene and/or a salient object and a background. The higher degree of polarization may be associated with the background or the one or more salient objects. Color contrast is associated with one or more of a difference in saturation, a difference in hue, and a difference in lightness.

Protective Transparent Coating for Optical Filters
20210011203 · 2021-01-14 · ·

An optically transparent device includes an exterior lens and an optical filter coupled to an inner surface of the exterior lens. A protective coating comprised of an acrylate may be coupled to an inner surface of the optical filter to reduce fragments of the optical filter from detaching from the exterior lens.

This invention relates to an ophthalmic lens comprising an optical article comprising a transparent substrate with a front main face and with a rear main face, at least one of the main faces being coated with an antireflective coating, characterized in that the number of layers of said antireflective coating is higher than or equal to 5, and the antireflective coating comprises: at least one layer having a low refractive index which is <1.6, defined as LI layer, at least one layer having a very high refractive index which is 2.2, defined as VHI layer and at least one layer having a high refractive index which is 1.6 and <2.2, defined as HI layer, the HI layer being the layer which is the nearest from said substrate amongst said LI, HI and VHI layers, and such that the mean reflection factor in the near infrared (NIR) region R.sub.m.sup.NIR of said antireflective coating is higher than or equal to 40% at an angle of incidence lower than 35.

OPHTHALMIC TINTED GLASS

An ophthalmic tinted glass (10) comprises a substrate-forming base eyeglass (1), a first layered structure (2) which covers a convex face (Cx) of the base eyeglass, and optionally a second layered structure (3) which covers a concave face (Cc) of the base eyeglass. The first layered structure has a function of selective reflection increase, and the second layered structure is antireflective. Such ophthalmic tinted glass produces solar protection while having a mean transmittance value in a wavelength range from 460 nm to 10 nm, or 465 nm to 495 nm, which is high enough for avoiding biological, hormonal and behavioural disorders for a wearer of the tinted glass.
