Forming electrochromic stacks using at most one metallic lithium deposition station
The present disclosure describes various processes of forming an electrochromic stack using at most one metallic lithium deposition station. In some aspects, a process may include depositing metallic lithium only within an electrochromic counter-electrode of an electrochromic stack. In some aspects, a process may include using a lithium-containing ceramic counter-electrode target to form an electrochromic counter-electrode and depositing metallic lithium only within or above an electrochromic electrode of the electrochromic stack. In some embodiments, a process may include using a lithium-containing ceramic electrode target, and optionally additionally depositing metallic lithium to add mobile lithium to the electrochromic stack. In some embodiments, a process may include using a single metallic lithium deposition station to deposit metallic lithium between an ion-conducting layer and an electrochromic electrode of the electrochromic stack.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES CONTAINING A SOLID-STATE ELECTROLYTE
A free-standing polymer electrolyte for an electrochromic device includes a polymer network, a plasticizer and an electrolyte salt containing at least one of lithium or sodium ions. The free-standing polymer electrolyte may exclude tetraglyme.

Electrochromic device and method for manufacturing electrochromic device
The invention relates to devices that provide a color change under the influence of an electric voltage, in particular to an electrochromic device and a method for manufacturing such a device. Disclosed is the method for manufacturing an electrochromic device comprising at least two electrodes that are flexible and optically transparent with a hermetically closed space between the electrodes filled with an electrochromic composition that may contain transparent and insoluble microparticles that function as spacers.

Thermal processing system with temperature non-uniformity control
A thermal processing system is provided. The thermal processing system can include a processing chamber and a workpiece disposed within the processing chamber. The thermal processing system can include a heat source configured to emit light towards the workpiece. The thermal processing system can further include a tunable reflective array disposed between the workpiece and the heat source. The tunable reflective array can include a plurality of pixels. Each pixel of the plurality of pixels can include an electrochromatic material configurable in a translucent state or an opaque state. When the electrochromatic material of a pixel is configured in the translucent state, the light at least partially passes through the pixel. Conversely, transmission of light through a pixel is reduced when the electrochromatic material of the pixel is configured in the opaque state.
Pinhole mitigation for optical devices
Methods, apparatus, and systems for mitigating pinhole defects in optical devices such as electrochromic windows. One method mitigates a pinhole defect in an electrochromic device by identifying the site of the pinhole defect and obscuring the pinhole to make it less visually discernible. In some cases, the pinhole defect may be the result of mitigating a short-related defect.
WATER-BASED-ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES WITH LOWER POWER CONSUMPTION AND IMPROVED CYCLABILITY
The use of materially-asymmetric electrodes in an electro-chromic (EC) cell having a single active layer that employs a water-based gel electrolytic material solves a problem that is exhibited during operation of conventionally-structured devices and that is caused by electrolysis of water in the gel and formation of gas bubbles inside the conventionally-structured devices, thereby substantially increasing the number of operational cycles such devices can be subjected to.
Smart window, smart window system, method of operating smart window, and method of fabricating smart window
A smart window configured to transition between a substantially transparent state and a dimmed state. The smart window includes a first substantially transparent conductive layer; an ion storage layer on the first substantially transparent conductive layer; an electrolyte layer on a side of the ion storage layer away from the first substantially transparent conductive layer; an electrochromic layer on a side of the electrolyte layer away from the ion storage layer; a second substantially transparent conductive layer on a side of the electrochromic layer away from the electrolyte layer; and an antenna layer configured to receive wireless power transmissions to provide energy for the smart window to transition between the substantially transparent state and the dimmed state. An orthographic projection of the electrochromic layer on the first substantially transparent conductive layer substantially covers an orthographic projection of the antenna layer on the first substantially transparent conductive layer.
Smart Refrigerator Assembly
A smart refrigerator assembly includes a refrigerator to facilitate storage of perishable items. Each of a pair of carousels is rotatably integrated into the refrigerator to support perishable food items. Each of a pair of doors is hingedly coupled to the refrigerator for opening and closing the refrigerator. Each of the doors is constructed of an electrochromic material to facilitate the doors to be alternatively opaque or translucent. In this way the doors facilitate contents of the refrigerator to be visible without opening the doors.
