Electronic device with deployable and retractable camera assembly

An electronic device with camera assembly which can be deployed and can be retracted allows a maximum size of display screen on a front surface of the device. The device includes a housing and at least a first lens module if not an additional and second lens module. The housing includes a front surface with a display screen and a back surface. The back surface defines a receiving groove receiving the first lens module. The first lens module is received in the receiving groove and capable of being stretching out of the receiving groove to face a front side of the electronic device when deployed, to capture a scene in front of the device. A controlling method suitable for a first lens module and/or a second lens module to capture a front scene and a rear scene is also provided.

A lens apparatus includes a holding barrel configured to hold a lens, an operation member, an exterior barrel configured to hold the operation member rotatably around an optical axis, and a fixed barrel. When the holding barrel and the exterior barrel move in an optical axis direction relative to the fixed barrel, an imaging state and a retracted state are switchable. When the operation member is rotated in one direction in each of the imaging and retracted states, the operation member gets engaged with the fixed barrel and the state gets locked. When the operation member is rotated in the other direction around the optical axis, the operation member gets disengaged from the fixed barrel, and the imaging state or the retracted state gets unlocked and switchable.

Imaging device and contact lens

An imaging device comprising a first camera with a controllable focus is provided. The imaging device is operative to detect that a user of the imaging device intends to capture an image of an object using the first camera, control the focus of the first camera to assume a target focal length, and capture the image. The target focal length is derived based on a measured accommodation of an eye lens of the user. Further, a contact lens comprising an eye-accommodation detector and a communications module is provided. The contact lens is operative to measure an accommodation of an eye lens to which the contact lens is attached, and transmit, to an imaging device comprising a first camera with a controllable focus, information pertaining to the measured accommodation of the eye lens and/or a focal length of the eye lens corresponding to the measured accommodation.

Imaging device and contact lens

An imaging device comprising a first camera with a controllable focus is provided. The imaging device is operative to detect that a user of the imaging device intends to capture an image of an object using the first camera, control the focus of the first camera to assume a target focal length, and capture the image. The target focal length is derived based on a measured accommodation of an eye lens of the user. Further, a contact lens comprising an eye-accommodation detector and a communications module is provided. The contact lens is operative to measure an accommodation of an eye lens to which the contact lens is attached, and transmit, to an imaging device comprising a first camera with a controllable focus, information pertaining to the measured accommodation of the eye lens and/or a focal length of the eye lens corresponding to the measured accommodation.

Example implementations relate to a camera system housing. In some examples, an apparatus may comprise a camera system housing including a camera and a gear mechanism. The camera housing may be coupled to a computing device. In some examples, the camera system housing may retract into the computing device to an enclosed position such that the housing is disposed at a first angle relative to the computing device responsive to actuation of the gear mechanism in a first direction and open out of the computing device to an enclosed position such that the housing is disposed at a second angle relative to the computing device responsive to actuation of the gear mechanism in a second direction.

An imaging apparatus includes a finder unit including a finder rotation unit movable between two states, a retracted state and a protruded state. The finder rotation unit is rotatably held in the protruded state.

A vertically foldable camera monitoring system includes a base fixedly mounted to a body of a vehicle, and a camera module coupled to the base, the camera module configured to provide a field of view at lateral and rear sides of the vehicle. The camera module includes a damper unit connected to the base and configured to be extended or retracted in length by a driving unit, a support member connected to the damper unit while supporting a camera, and a horizontal bar engaged at a first end with a guide slot provided at the support member while being disposed at a second end adjacent to the damper unit. The driving unit drives the camera module to be extended or to be rotated in an upward direction.

A digital imaging device includes a casing, a photosensitive device, a light shielding barrel, a movable lens barrel, and a driving device. The casing includes a closed end and an open end. The photosensitive device is disposed inside the casing and adjacent to the closed end. The photosensitive device has a photosensitive element. The light shielding barrel is disposed inside the casing. The light shielding barrel includes a fixed end fixed inside the casing and surrounding the photosensitive element. The movable lens barrel is coaxially disposed with the light shielding barrel. The movable lens barrel includes a lens end and a driving portion. The lens end includes an optical lens coaxially disposed with the photosensitive element. The driving device is connected to the driving portion. The driving device drives the movable lens barrel to move axially relative to the light shielding barrel.
