A stable and controllable shooting apparatus, comprising a shooting module, a stabilizer module and a main control module, wherein the shooting module and the stabilizer module are respectively connected with the main control module, the stabilizer module comprises a handheld part and an X-axis motor, a Y-axis motor, and a Z-axis motor which are arranged at top of the handheld part and are orthogonal in a space, wherein a stator of the Z-axis motor is connected with the handheld part, a rotor of the Z-axis motor is connected with a stator of the Y-axis motor, a rotor of the Y-axis motor is connected with a stator of the X-axis motor, and a rotor of the X-axis motor is connected with the shooting module. The stable and controllable shooting apparatus may be quickly stabilized during moving shooting and its shooting direction may be controlled.

An embodiment provides a motorized monopole for a camera, including: a hand-held monopole; a first motor positioned at an end of the hand-held monopole; a first connecting element attached to the first motor; a second motor positioned at an end of the first connecting element; a second connecting element attached to the second motor; a third motor positioned at an end of the second connecting element; and a camera mounting plate attached to the second connecting element by the third motor, where components of the multi-axis gimbal are positioned such that a camera viewing axis, a horizontal image axis, and a vertical image axis of a camera mounted on the camera mounting plate need not be aligned with any of a rotational axis of the first motor, a rotational axis of the second motor, or a rotational axis of the third motor. The gimbal includes a gimbal assembly connected to the gimbal controller, the gimbal assembly being configured to mount an imaging device and drive the imaging device to rotate to adjust an imaging direction of the imaging device. The method includes determining whether the gimbal has entered a preset mode; and controlling rotation of the gimbal assembly to stabilize the imaging direction of the imaging device at a first balance direction when the gimbal enters the preset mode, and controlling a movement of the gimbal assembly such that the imaging direction of the imaging device is within a first cone angle range with the first balance direction as an axis before the gimbal exiting the preset mode.
