Posturized Pocketed Spring Comfort Layer
A posturized comfort layer for a bedding or seating product has different sections of different firmness due to different mini coil springs within the sections. The springs may be individually pocketed between two sheets of non-woven polypropylene fabric joined with circular seams or rectangular seams. Each circular seam joins opposed pieces of fabric around one of the mini coil springs with curved segments. Alternatively, rectangular seams join opposed pieces of fabric around each of the mini coil springs with linear segments. Regardless of the shape of the seams, the different firmness of the different sections of the comfort layer may be due to the mini-coil springs contained in the pockets.
REINFORCED POCKET SPRING MATTRESS
A pocket spring mattress (1) comprising a plurality of double layer spring units (7) arranged in rows and columns to form a rectangular shaped mattress is provided. Each double layer spring unit (7) comprises a first pocket spring unit (2a) arranged axially onto a second pocket spring unit (2b), and each spring unit (2a, 2b) comprises a number of springs (3a-b, 4a-b) and a fabric pocket (6) enclosing the springs (3a-b, 4a-b). The springs (3a-b, 4a-b) comprises reference springs (3a-b) having a first spring constant and frame springs (4a-b) having a second spring constant being greater than the first spring constant, and frame springs (4a-b) are arranged in at least one of the first and second pocket spring units (2a, 2b) of at least one outermost row or column of the double layered spring units (7) in a configuration such that the edge of the mattress (1) is reinforced.
SLEEPING SYSTEM
A sleeping system includes a comfortable layer comprising a plurality of pressure relief springs and a supporting layer arranged under the comfortable layer. The supporting layer includes a plurality of supporting springs corresponding to the plurality of pressure relief springs, each of the plurality of supporting springs is connected with one of the plurality of pressure relief springs to constitute a pair of spring, the supporting springs and the supporting springs forms a plurality of pairs of springs arranged along a length direction and a width direction, each pair of spring has a same size, and a ratio of a length of the supporting spring to a length of the pressure relief spring varies smoothly along the length direction of the sleeping system.
Pocketed Spring Assembly Including Cushion Pads
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs, each string joined to at least one adjacent string, each string comprising one piece of fabric folded into first and second opposed plies of fabric. Outer pockets are formed along each string by transverse seams joining the first and second plies. One pocketed spring and at least cushion pad is positioned in each outer pocket. The cushion pad may be individually pocketed. An upper end of each transverse seam may be below an upper surface of the string to partially separate adjacent outer pockets within a string.
Non-linear springs and mattresses including the same
A pocketed spring, such as that used in a mattress, comprises: a compression spring having an upper end convolution and a lower end convolution opposite the upper end convolution, and a plurality of helical intermediate convolutions between the upper end convolution and the lower end convolution; a flexible enclosure including a top wall positioned adjacent to the upper end convolution of the compression spring, a bottom wall positioned adjacent to the lower end convolution of the compression spring, and a side wall that extends from the top wall to the bottom wall; and a tension member connected to the flexible enclosure. The tension member acts in opposition to the compression spring until the pocketed spring is compressed to a point at winch the tension member no longer applies any force. Thus, the pocketed spring exhibits a non-linear response when compressed.
Systems and methods for adjusting the firmness and profile of a mattress assembly
In systems and methods for adjusting the firmness of a mattress assembly and/or modulating the pressure in a mattress assembly, a mattress assembly includes: a two-dimensional array of bladders; at least one pump that is in fluid communication with the bladders to provide air and/or fluid to the bladders: multiple valves that are interposed between the pump and the bladders to control the flow of air and/or fluid to or from the bladders; a pressure sensor operably connected to one or more of the bladders; and a controller in communication with the pump, the valves, and the pressure sensors. The controller is configured to selectively actuate the pump and one or more of the valves, while receiving feedback from the pressure sensors, in order to adjust the firmness of the mattress assembly and/or modulate the pressure in the mattress assembly.
Furniture construction with elastic or spring modules
Furniture is assembled from elastic modules enabling rapid and convenient assembly and disassembly. The elastic module has a spring, an outer covering layer, and an end member attached to an end face of the outer covering layer. A mattress includes a plurality of individual spring assemblies (145), with each spring assembly including at least one spring (134) and a spring cap (144, 150, 161, 164, 171, 184, 194, 204). Each spring cap has at least one first attachment fitting (168, 178, 174, 186, 196) and at least one second attachment fitting (169, 180, 176, 187) with each first attachment fitting engageable into or onto and removable from a second attachment fitting of an adjoining spring cap. The spring assemblies are attached to each other via the first and second attachment fittings, forming the individual spring assemblies into a spring core. A top pad is positioned on top of the spring core. The mattress can be quickly dis-assembled and stored in a compact space by removing the top pad and separating the spring assemblies from each other.
POCKET SPRING CORE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A pocket spring core as well as a method for producing a pocket spring core for use in the manufacture of mattresses or furniture upholstery. The pocket spring core has a plurality of springs, a number of which lie in a row one behind the other in respective flexible pockets, forming a bank of springs, and a number of adjacent banks of spring, which together form a supporting surface, are interconnected. The springs of at least one region of the supporting surface have different springing characteristics from the springs of the neighboring regions. At least one part of the individual banks of springs consists of bank portions with differing spring characteristics, the pocketed springs of each bank portion are identical, at least some of the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are of different lengths and the neighboring portions of adjacent banks of springs are interconnected.
