Welding apparatus and manufacturing method for multilayer pocket spring string, and manufacturing device for pocket spring mattress
Disclosed are a welding apparatus and manufacturing method for a multilayer pocket spring string, and a manufacturing device for a pocket spring mattress. The welding apparatus may include: at least one first welding module configured for welding cloth, so that an accommodating cavity for accommodating a spring is separated to form at least two layers of first cavities; at least one first driving mechanism configured for driving the first welding module to move along a layer-column direction of the first cavity; a second welding module configured for welding the cloth, so that the cloth forms the accommodating cavities arranged at intervals; and at least two spring conveying mechanisms arranged at intervals, the spring conveying mechanism is configured for clamping and conveying the spring into the corresponding first cavity.
Mattress firmness testing process and system
A system for evaluating failure of a used mattress includes a test device and computerized test device control module. The test device includes a plunger arm, a control motor attached to a first end of the plunger arm and configured to selectively extend and retract the plunger arm, and a platen attached to an end of the plunger arm distal from control motor. The control module includes a computerized processor, operating programming to evaluate the failure of the mattress. The programming includes controlling extension of the plunger arm, monitoring firmness in the mattress based upon force applied by the platen on the mattress and displacement of the plunger arm, monitoring a threshold firmness value for comparison, comparing the threshold firmness value to the monitored firmness, and generating a result of the comparison indicating the failure of the mattress.
Pocketed Spring Assembly
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of springs, each string joined to at least one adjacent string, each string comprising first and second opposed plies of fabric and a plurality of pockets formed along a length of the string by transverse seams joining the first and second plies. At least one spring is positioned in each pocket. Exterior strings have identical springs in their pockets. Interior strings have two different springs along their length, the outermost springs being firmer than the interior core springs. The pocketed spring assembly has increased firmness or edge support along all four sides due to the different coil springs of the assembly.
Multi-zone mattress
A multi-zone mattress comprising a top layer, an intermediate layer and a bottom layer disposed in substantially parallel relationship relative to each other including a first plurality of zones each having a first firmness profile to support a person thereon separated by a second plurality of zones each having a second firmness profile less than the firmness of the first firmness profile of the first plurality of zones, the first plurality of zones and the second plurality of zones each cooperatively formed by corresponding sections of the top layer, intermediate layer and bottom layer disposed in substantially parallel alignment relative to each other.
Sectioned Pocketed Spring Assembly and Method of Making Same
A pocketed spring assembly comprises parallel strings, each string joined to at least one adjacent string. At least some of the strings have springs of different gauge wire and some of the pockets of the strings having springs of different gauge wire are spliced together. At least some of the strings have springs of different geometries and some of the pockets of the strings having springs of different geometries are spliced together. At least some strings may have end sections with springs different than a middle section therebetween, the springs of the end sections being firmer than the springs of the middle section.
Systems and methods for adjusting the firmness and profile of a mattress assembly
In systems and methods for adjusting the firmness of a mattress assembly and/or modulating the pressure in a mattress assembly, a mattress assembly includes: a two-dimensional array of bladders; at least one pump that is in fluid communication with the bladders to provide air and/or fluid to the bladders; multiple valves that are interposed between the pump and the bladders to control the flow of air and/or fluid to or from the bladders; a pressure sensor operably connected to one or more of the bladders; and a controller in communication with the pump, the valves, and the pressure sensors. The controller is configured to selectively actuate the pump and one or more of the valves, while receiving feedback from the pressure sensors, in order to adjust the firmness of the mattress assembly and/or modulate the pressure in the mattress assembly.
Pocketed Spring Assembly Having Dimensionally Stabilizing Substrate
A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs. A dimensionally stabilizing substrate is secured to at least some of the strings on one of the top and bottom surfaces of the strings. A scrim sleet is secured to at least some of the strings on an opposed surface of the strings to maintain the positions of the strings. The dimensionally stabilizing substrate is laterally rigid enough to maintain length and width dimensions of the coil spring assembly. However, the dimensionally stabilizing substrate is flexible enough to allow the pocketed spring assembly to be roll packed for shipping.
Mattress
The present invention is a mattress comprising a first layer of cushion members secured to a layer of coil pockets. The layer of coil pockets comprises first and second coil pockets. Each of the first and second coil pockets comprise a pocket and a coil spring disposed in the pocket. The first layer of cushion members comprises an attachment member and first and second cushion members engaged with said attachment member. The attachment member is engaged with the layer of coil pockets such that the first and second cushion members act directly upon the first and second coil pockets, respectively. The first cushion member is free standing from the second cushion member thereby causing a pumping action to occur upon depression of the first cushion member and circulation of air.
