VENTILATED COMFORT LAYER
A bed assembly includes a mattress that has rails that define an outer perimeter of the mattress and an inner core defined between the rails of the mattress. Springs are positioned within the inner core. A comfort layer including ventilation openings is supported by the rails of the mattress so that the comfort layer covers the mattress and the ventilation openings are in fluid communication with the inner core. In some instances, the comfort layer is positioned so that the ventilation openings are aligned with coil openings defined through the springs within the mattress.
MATTRESS ASSEMBLY
Mattress assemblies that provide user comfort and increased airflow generally include a viscoelastic thermally conductive infused polyurethane foam top layer; a composite comprising a bottom layer, a molded viscoelastic middle foam layer, and a perforated top viscoelastic foam layer, wherein the molded viscoelastic middle foam layer comprises a plurality of interconnected substantially parallelpipedal bodies, wherein each parallelpipedal body includes an opening extending from a bottom surface to a top surface and is separated from an adjacent parallelpipedal body by a V-shaped notch, and wherein the perforated top viscoelastic foam layer comprises a plurality of perforations extending from a bottom surface to a top surface thereof, wherein at least a portion of the perforations overlies the opening in the parallelpipedal bodies; and a base core layer, wherein the composite overlies the base core layer.
Mattress System
A mattress identification system is described having a mattress having a mattress top panel, a mattress foot, a mattress bottom panel and comprising a plurality of foam layers. The system has: a) a twill pattern on the mattress top panel has a first loft comprising essentially parallel straight lines that extends to an upper part of the mattress foot; b) a first fabric portion that covers approximately of the mattress foot below the twill pattern that extends to the upper part of the mattress foot; c) a second fabric portion that covers approximately of the mattress foot below the twill pattern that extends to the upper part of the mattress foot; and d) a zipper assembly.
AIR-CONDITIONED MATTRESS TOPPER
A mattress topper for providing improved comfort to a sleeper comprises a pressure distribution layer defining an interior volume. The pressure distribution layer has substantially air-impermeable side walls and a substantially air-impermeable base, and a top surface having at least a region that is air permeable. Support material is contained within the interior volume. The mattress topper includes at least one electrically powered air circulation device for drawing air into the interior volume of the pressure distribution layer via at least one air inlet port. A lateral air-flow layer is disposed above the pressure distribution layer and is configured to provide substantially unimpeded air flow both upwardly and laterally.
Support Cushions Including A Pocketed Coil Layer With A Plurality Of Fabric Types For Directing Air Flow, And Methods For Controlling Surface Temperature Of Same
A support cushion for providing air flow to a user resting on the support cushion is provided. The support cushion includes pocketed coil layer and a base layer positioned adjacent to and below the pocketed coil layer. The pocketed coil layer including a plurality of fabric types for directing air flow. A fan is operably connected to the inlet hole of the base layer to provide air flow into and through the pocketed coil layer to a body support layer. Methods of controlling air flow through a support cushion are also provided.
SUPPORT SYSTEM INCLUDING LAYERS OF SPACER FABRIC AND NON-VISCOELASTIC PRESSURE RELIEF MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR MEASURING PRESSURE AND PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION PROPERTIES OF A SUPPORT SYSTEM
A support system for the human body including two layers of 3D spacer fabric and one or more layers of a non-viscoelastic pressure relief material, such as a non-viscoelastic slow-recovery foam, latex foam, gel matrix or micro-coil, is disclosed. The support system reduces point pressure and evenly distributes pressure along the body, while providing a soft feel and more even and smooth transitions of movement.
Person support
A person support for supporting a person includes a first layer and a resilient second layer. The first layer has a surface topography with a first region with a curvature configured to correspond and generally conform, in an unloaded state, to the shape of a first portion of a person's body. The surface topography has a second region configured to correspond and generally conform, in an unloaded state, to the shape of a second portion of a person's body. The resilient second layer overlays the first layer and forms a person support surface.
MATTRESS SYSTEM COMPRISING ONE OR MORE ELECTRICAL OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES CONFIGURED TO OPERATE BASED ON AN INDUCTIVE ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY
A mattress system, comprising a mattress comprising at least one support layer; and an electrical or electronic device, wherein the electrical or electronic device is configured to operate based on an inductive electrical power supply. A mattress assembly comprising the mattress and a mattress foundation.
MATTRESS SYSTEM COMPRISING ONE OR MORE ELECTRONIC DEVICES CONFIGURED FOR SMART HOME CONTROL
A mattress system comprising a mattress comprising at least a first support layer comprising at least a first channel extending from a first side of the mattress to a second side of the mattress, wherein the first channel has a first opening at the first side of the mattress and a second opening at the second side of the mattress; at least a first air movement device disposed at the first opening or the second opening of the first channel; and a control hub, which may be a smart home device. A mattress assembly comprising the mattress system and a mattress foundation.
MATTRESS COMPRISING ONE OR MORE COOLING DEVICES
A mattress system, comprising a mattress comprising a top surface; and at least one cooling device configured to transfer heat away from the top surface, wherein the cooling device is configured to circulate a working fluid or thermoelectrically cool. The at least one cooling device may circulate at least one of water, ammonia, carbon dioxide, non-halogenated hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, or liquid nitrogen. In a particular embodiment, the at least one cooling device circulates water. In another embodiment, the at least one cooling device is a thermoelectric cooling device. A mattress assembly comprising the mattress and a mattress foundation.
