A transparent protective layer or cover is disclosed for protecting a furniture item from scratches and stains. The protective layer is transparent and made of a waterproof and durable material such as polyurethane. In one embodiment, the layer is molded on the furniture piece using a molding technique and in other embodiments, the layer is permanently or detachably attached using an adhesive. The protective cover remains in place during use and the transparency does not impact the aesthetics of the furniture. The adhesive can be disposed in the form of a strip or a continuous surface on the bottom surface area of the protective layer for securing the layer to the furniture item.

A cover is for a furniture item defining a recess at an upper end. The cover may include a cover layer extending over the furniture item and over the recess and having an inner surface adjacent the recess, and a bladder coupled to the inner surface of the cover layer adjacent the recess and configured to inflate. The bladder is for preventing depressions on an upper surface of the cover layer.

A portable, compactable seating barrier for positioning between a user and a seating surface and with a soft and/or moisture wicking material having a first and second side with one side comprising a non-slip texture on at least a portion thereof, and wherein the material has a first dimension that is in the range of approximately 18 inches to approximately 25 inches in length and a second dimension that is in the range of approximately 18 inches to approximately 25 inches in width and a thickness that is less than ? inch.

The disclosure herein provides modular cover systems for protecting furniture and other objects. In an embodiment, a furniture protection system comprises a first cover portion comprising a front surface and a back surface interconnected by a top surface, the first cover portion configured to substantially cover a front, back, and top surface of a first furniture component; and a second cover portion comprising a front surface and a back surface interconnected by a top surface, the second cover portion configured to substantially cover a front, back, and top surface of a second furniture component, wherein a first edge of the first cover portion comprises a first releasable fastener for connecting the first cover portion to the second cover portion, and wherein a second edge of the second cover portion comprises a second releasable fastener configured to engage the first releasable.

A flexible cover with a framed opening is disclosed. A rigid frame that is built into the cover's opening makes it possible to find the opening, lift the cover evenly, place the cover over the item, rotate the cover to the proper position and drop the cover in an even manner and without snagging. In addition, the frame can be made to fold so that the cover can be stowed away for storage in a controlled manner, and by folding the frame on a larger size cover it makes it easier for the user to control the covers weight because its center of gravity is held closer to the user's body until it is properly positioned and opened on top of the item to be covered.

A framed cover is disclosed. A rigid tubular frame that is built into the cover's opening makes it possible to find the opening, lift the cover evenly, place the cover over the item, rotate the cover to the proper position and drop the cover in an even manner and without snagging. In addition, the tubular frame can be made to fold so that the cover can be stowed away for storage in a controlled manner, and by folding the tubular frame on a larger size cover it makes it easier for the user to control the covers weight because its center of gravity is held closer to the user's body until it is properly positioned and opened on top of the item to be covered.

The disclosure herein provides modular cover systems for protecting furniture and other objects. A dental chair cover kit is provided. The kit includes a dental chair cover having a cover body configured to cover a portion of a back rest of a dental chair, a headrest pocket configured to receive a headrest of the dental chair, an extendable neck member interconnecting the cover body to the headrest pocket, and a bib removably affixed to the cover body. The pocket includes an interior volume sized to receive the headrest of the dental chair and an opening for providing access to the interior volume. The extendable neck member includes an accordion fold biased to a first collapsed position and extendable to a second extended position for enabling extension of the cover body relative to the headrest pocket. The bib includes a strap for removably securing the bib to a user and a slot configured to removably receive and retain an item on the bib.
