A play yard or a gate, and method of manufacturing the same, in which at least a portion of the play yard or the gate is constructed of a recycled plastic material. The play yard or gate can be construed using a recycled plastic resin that includes recycled copolymer polypropylene resin having one or more mechanical and/or other properties.

A gated barrier that includes a barrier frame first portion, a barrier frame second portion, and a gate between the barrier frame first and second portions. The barrier frame first and second portions include first and second threshold portions that are spaced apart from each other and held in such a spaced apart orientation by a rigid elongate piece. A horizontal universal joint includes a first joint member and a second joint member. The first joint member is integrally formed by a frame insertion port and a female coupling port. The second joint member is integrally formed by a frame insertion port and a male coupling port. The female coupling port of the first joint member and the male coupling port of the second joint member are removably engaged via an elastic body. Teeth rows are formed at an inner peripheral surface of the female coupling port and an outer peripheral surface of the male coupling port meshing with one another. Depending on meshing positions of both teeth rows when the male coupling port is inserted into the female coupling port, the horizontal direction where the frame insertion port of the second joint member faces relative to the frame insertion port of the first joint member is changeable.

An enclosure that lies flat when side panels are lowered for storage. The enclosure can have play elements for small animals or infants.

A play yard comprising: a play yard frame body defining an enclosed area; a tunnel located below said enclosed area; and a removable padded floor assembly. The removable padded floor assembly is removably placeable within said tunnel.

The present invention is directed to a mattress base for a child's play yard and to a folding child's play yard with a mattress that utilize securing mechanisms to secure the mattress base upon installation and to prevent a child from lifting the mattress base.
