An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, an exposure head which includes a plurality of light emitting elements, and is configured to expose the photosensitive member through use of the plurality of light emitting elements to form an image, and at least one processor configured to transmit, to the exposure head, image data including pieces of data each of which indicates an image on one line in a first direction, the pieces of data corresponding to a plurality of lines arranged in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and to form an image corresponding to the image data on the photosensitive member through use of the exposure head, wherein the at least one processor is configured to divide the one line in the first direction into a plurality of segments.

Image forming apparatus with antimicrobial toner

An image forming apparatus includes: a forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet by forming a plurality of toner images using a plurality of types of toner, and transfer the plurality of toner images onto the sheet, or transfer the plurality of toner images onto the sheet via an intermediate transfer member; and a controller configured to control the forming unit to form a formed image and an antimicrobial pattern on the sheet based on first image data representing the formed image, wherein at least one first toner out of the plurality of types of toner is antimicrobial toner that includes an antimicrobial agent, at least one second toner out of the plurality of types of toner is non-antimicrobial toner that does not contain the antimicrobial agent, and the antimicrobial pattern is formed using the first toner.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

An image forming apparatus includes a first optical writer; a second optical writer adjacent to the first optical writer in the scanning direction; an image former; and multiple sensors. Each end of the first scanning region and the second scanning region is overlapped in a first overlapping region of the first image bearer at a center of the first image bearer in the scanning direction. The image former forms a first correction pattern in a first transfer region in the second image bearer corresponding to the first scanning region of the first image bearer; and a second correction pattern in a second transfer region in the second image bearer corresponding to the second scanning region of the first image bearer. The multiple sensors include a common sensor to detect both the first correction pattern and the second correction pattern in a second overlapping region on the second image bearer.
