IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes image forming units. A controller includes an execution section, a measurement section, and a prediction section. The execution section controls execution of a developer refresh operation in which toner is ejected from a developer bearing member to an image bearing member so that a specific image forming unit replenishes a development device with the toner from the developer bearing member. The measurement section measures respective surface potentials of the image bearing members included in other image forming units while the specific image forming unit is executing the developer refresh operation. The prediction section uses measurement results of the respective surface potentials of the image bearing members included in the other image forming units for a prediction on the surface potential of the image bearing member included in the specific image forming unit.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus comprising an image bearing member, a developer bearing member, a drive unit for driving the image bearing member and the developer bearing member in varied peripheral speeds, a control unit, a developing voltage application unit, a supply member for supplying a developer to the developer bearing member, and, a supply member voltage application unit, wherein the control unit executes a first image forming mode in which a rotational peripheral speed ratio between surface movement speeds of the developer bearing member and the image bearing member is not more than 1 and a second image forming mode in which the rotational peripheral speed ratio is larger than 1, and, the control unit controls the drive unit so that a difference between developing voltage and supply voltage becomes larger in the second image forming mode than in the first image forming mode.
Developing cartridge having coupling and developing roller
In a cartridge, a housing has a developer accommodating portion and includes a first side wall and a second side wall. A coupling member is disposed at a position opposite to the developer accommodating portion with respect to the first side wall. A detection body is disposed at a position opposite to the developer accommodating portion with respect to the second side wall. A first driving force transmission member is positioned at the same side with the coupling member with respect to the first side wall, and transmits driving force from the coupling member to a rotating member. A second driving force transmission member is positioned at the same side with the detection body with respect to the second side wall, and transmits driving force from the rotating member to the detection body.
Image forming apparatus capable of reducing image defects caused by paper dust
A driving unit is controlled so that a driving state where an image bearing member is driven with a first potential difference formed between a brush member and the image bearing member at a contact portion where the image bearing member is in contact with the brush member transitions to a stopped state where the image bearing member stops being driven with a second potential difference formed, the second potential difference having an absolute value less than that of the first potential difference.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an amorphous silicon photosensitive member, a developing device including a developer carrying member that carries a two-component developer, and a control portion. When a potential difference V0−Vdc between the photosensitive member and the developer carrying member has a first potential difference at which the toner is moved from the developer carrying member to the photosensitive member and a second potential difference at which the toner is moved from the photosensitive member to the developer carrying member, the control portion adjusts V0 or Vdc so that the first potential difference and the second potential difference are equal in value and opposite in polarity, and a first development current |Ia| that flows at the first potential difference and a second development current |Ib| that flows at the second potential difference satisfy 1.9×10.sup.−2≥|Ib|/N≥5.7×10.sup.3 [μA/mm].
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus controls the number of rotations of a photosensitive drum based on information related to the use of the photosensitive drum and a suspension time in a rotation operation of rotating the photosensitive drum after a lapse of the suspension time between a first image forming operation of forming an image on a transfer material and a second image forming operation performed after the first image forming operation.
TONER TRANSFER DEVICE
Provided is a toner transfer device including: a carrier device that includes a surface on which a charged toner is carried; an electrode that attracts the toner from the surface of the carrier device; a conveyance path of a print medium which is formed between the carrier device and the electrode; and a power supply device that causes a potential difference to occur between the carrier device and the electrode to transfer the toner from the carrier device onto the print medium when the print medium is located in the conveyance path.
POWER SUPPLY APPARATUS FOR SUPPLYING VARIOUS VOLTAGES AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS OPERATING ON VOLTAGE SUPPLIED FROM POWER SUPPLY APPARATUS
A power supply apparatus generates an output voltage. A boost circuit boosts a voltage supplied from a reference voltage source and generates a first power supply voltage. A processor controls switching the boost circuit on and off. A first transistor is connected to the first power supply voltage. A second transistor is connected to a collector of the first transistor. A resistance element is connected to a collector of the second transistor. A voltage source is connected to the resistance element and generates a second power supply voltage. A collector voltage, which is an output voltage, of the second transistor is controlled by controlling an amount of base current of the first transistor.
Non-contact developer bias voltage control for image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus detects a first current value and a second current value of currents flowing between an image bearing member and a developer carrying member. When a difference between the detected first current value and the detected second current value exceeds a threshold in a state in which the image bearing member and the developer carrying member are rotated and a first developing voltage is applied to the developer carrying member, a controller controls AC voltage applied to the developer carrying member.
Image forming apparatus that detects surface potential of image carrier with high accuracy
An image forming apparatus includes a developing device that forms a toner image, by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoconductor drum, a charging device that electrically charges the photoconductor drum, a developing power source that applies a predetermined developing bias voltage to the developing device, and a calculation device that calculates a surface potential of the photoconductor drum, on a basis of the developing current flowing in the developing device. The developing power source applies the developing bias voltage in a plurality of levels, to the developing device. A current measurement device measures a developing current, with respect to the developing bias voltage of each level. The calculation device calculates the surface potential, on the basis of each developing current.
