Image forming apparatus having controller to control potential bias applied between developing roller and supply roller according to cumulative drive time

An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a charging device, an exposure device, a developing device, a development voltage power supply, and a control section. The developing device includes a development container for containing a non-magnetic one-component developer composed only of a toner, a developer carrying member having an outer circumferential surface on which a toner layer is formed, and a toner supply member that supplies the toner to the developer carrying member. The control section performs control so that, as a cumulative drive time of the developing device increases, a supply voltage Vsdc becomes larger than a reference supply voltage and a development voltage Vdc becomes smaller than a reference development voltage, thus executing control to vary the development voltage Vdc and the supply voltage Vsdc so as to increase a potential difference VsdcVdc between the supply voltage Vsdc and the development voltage Vdc.

COLD PRESSURE FIX TONER COMPOSITIONS BASED ON SMALL MOLECULE CRYSTALLINE AND AMORPHOUS ORGANIC COMPOUND MIXTURES

A cold pressure fix toner composition includes at least one C.sub.16 to C.sub.80 crystalline organic material having a melting point in a range from about 30 C. to about 130 C. and at least one C.sub.16 to C.sub.80 amorphous organic material having a Tg of from about 30 C. to about 70 C. A method of cold pressure fix toner application includes providing the cold pressure fix toner composition, disposing the cold pressure fix toner composition on a substrate and applying pressure to the disposed composition on the substrate under cold pressure fixing conditions. The cold pressure fix toner compositions can be formed into latexes.

Film, member, transfer device, fixing device, and image forming apparatus

A film contains a siloxane compound having an alkyl group and a resin having a density of 1.1 g/cm.sup.3 or higher and a glass transition temperature of 150 C. or higher.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus

A fixing device fixes a toner image formed on a recording medium to the recording medium. The fixing device includes a fixing roller, a pressure roller, and a first heater. The pressure roller is disposed opposite to the fixing roller to form a fixing nip therebetween. The first heater performs non-contact heating on the toner image that has passed through the fixing nip and that has been fixed to the recording medium to melt the toner image. The first heater is disposed adjacent to a conveyance path through which the recording medium that has passed through the fixing nip is conveyed.

A fuser driving device is provided and includes a front frame and a rear frame. The front frame and the rear frame are fixedly connected to each other. Two ends of a gear are respectively mounted to the front frame and the rear frame. A driving arm is mounted in the gear and is movable axially along the gear to enter into or withdraw from the fuser. When the driving arm enters into the fuser, the driving arm is driven to rotate through the gear, to drive a fusing roller to rotate. A withdrawing device includes a pulling member and an operating member. One end of the pulling member is connected to the driving arm and the other end is connected to the operating member. The pulling member is moved by operating the operating member to pull the driving arm to withdraw from the fuser into the gear.

Image forming system

An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus including an image forming unit and a fixing unit; a folding processing portion; a pressure-bonding portion; and an input portion capable of selecting a pressure-bonding mode in which a pressure-bonding print prepared by subjecting the recording material to pressure-bonding processing by the folding processing portion and the pressure-bonding portion and capable of selecting a layout of the toner image formed on the recording material. When the pressure-bonding mode is selected, the layout depending on the pressure-bonding mode is selected.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS CAPABLE OF DETERMINING WHETHER OR NOT TO-BE-TRANSFERRED TONER IMAGE WILL STICK OUT FROM CONTACT AREA OF IMAGE-CARRYING MEMBER WITH SHEET, AND DETERMINATION METHOD

An image forming apparatus includes an image-carrying member, a transfer portion, a movement processing portion, and a determination processing portion. The image-carrying member conveys a toner image including a to-be-transferred toner image. The transfer portion transfers the to-be-transferred toner image onto a sheet that comes into contact with the image-carrying member. The movement processing portion causes a formation target image corresponding to the to-be-transferred toner image, that is included in image data used for forming the toner image, to move within the image data. The determination processing portion determines whether or not the to-be-transferred toner image that is based on the moved formation target image will stick out from a contact area of the image-carrying member that comes into contact with the sheet.
