A document conveyance apparatus includes a document tray, a separation feeding unit configured to form a separation nip for separating the documents one by one and to feed a document, a detection sensor configured to detect the document, a controller configured to stop feeding of the document based on the detection sensor, an environment sensor configured to acquire environment information, and a display. When the controller stops feeding of the document, (a) in a case where the environment information acquired by the environment sensor satisfies a predetermined condition, the display displays a screen for prompting a user to loosen a bundle of documents, and (b) in a case where the environment information acquired by the environment sensor does not satisfy the predetermined condition, the display does not display the screen for prompting the user to loosen the bundle of documents.

In order to provide an action indicator for encouraging a user to use an image forming apparatus in an environmentally friendly manner, the image forming apparatus includes a printing unit configured to perform printing on a print medium based on image data; and a controller configured to control the printing unit based on a job involving the printing. The controller causes the printing unit to print by applying printing settings to image data related to the job, and outputs information on an amount of power required to execute the job, the amount of power being an amount of power per processing unit on the condition that the print setting is applied.
IMAGE READING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image reading device includes a reading unit that includes a transparent member, a sensor for reading an image on a sheet conveyed by a conveyance roller via the transparent member, a case accommodating the sensor, and a first contact portion and a second contact portion located at the case. The reading unit is movable to each of a first position where the image on the sheet is read by the sensor and a second position where the transparent member is exposed to an outside and the first and second contact portions contact the conveyance unit. When the transparent member is pressed in a state where the reading unit is located at the second position, a backup portion contacts the other of the case and the conveyance unit so that the conveyance unit supports the case.

An image processing device includes circuitry configured to receive a first visible and an invisible image, remove the invisible component from the first visible image based on the invisible image to generate a second visible image, determine whether to remove the invisible component from the first visible image, and output either the first visible image based on a determination not to remove the invisible component or output the second visible image based on a determination to remove the invisible component. The first visible image is captured by a first sensor having a first sensitivity to both of first light in a visible wavelength range; and second light in an invisible wavelength range. The first visible image includes an invisible component in the invisible wavelength range. The invisible image is captured by a second sensor having a second sensitivity to the second light.

An image apparatus includes an image former configured to form an image on a sheet, a discharge tray with a stacking area where a sheet on which the image has been formed is to be stacked, an operation device, an image reading apparatus configured to read an image, a first support portion configured to support the image reading apparatus, and a second support portion configured to support the image reading apparatus, wherein, in a vertical direction, the image reading apparatus is supported above the discharge tray, the first support portion is arranged at one side of the discharge tray in a direction perpendicular to both the vertical direction and a discharge direction in which the sheet is discharged onto the discharge tray, the second support portion is arranged at the other side of the discharge tray.
DOCUMENT SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE, IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND DOCUMENT SHEET CONVEYING METHOD
A conveying mechanism sequentially conveys document sheets placed on a document sheet placing portion to a document sheet discharge portion through an image reading position at which an image is read from each of the document sheets. The document sheet discharge portion is provided below the document sheet placing portion. A raising and lowering mechanism raises and lowers the document sheet placing portion. A first determination processing portion determines whether or not any of the document sheets is placed on the document sheet placing portion. A second determination processing portion determines whether or not any of the document sheets is placed on the document sheet discharge portion. A raising and lowering processing portion controls raising and lowering operations by the raising and lowering mechanism on the basis of results of determinations made by the first determination processing portion and the second determination processing portion.
