DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A device includes an operating portion, a switch and a controller. The device is operable in a first mode in which a predetermined operation is executed and in a second mode of which power consumption is reduced rather than in the first mode, and operates in a state connected to an image forming apparatus. The operating portion operates by an AC voltage supplied from an external power source. The switch supplies the AC voltage to the operating portion in a conductive state and cuts off supply of the AC voltage to the operating portion in a non-conductive state. The controller operates by a DC voltage generated from the AC voltage by a power source provided in the image forming apparatus. The controller controls to cause the switch to be in the non-conductive state so as to stop operation of the operating portion when the device shifts from the first mode to the second mode.
Electronic apparatus which controls power to a motor from two different power supplies
An image forming apparatus which includes a motor, a first power supply unit that supplies a first voltage to the motor, and a second power supply unit that supplies a second voltage, which is higher than the first voltage, to the motor, and a central processing unit (CPU) that controls supply of the second voltage from the second power supply unit to the motor while maintaining supply of the first voltage from the first power supply unit to the motor.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
According to at least one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a first sensor, a second sensor, and a controller. The first sensor is configured to detect a user. The second sensor is configured to detect a sheet in a sheet holder. The controller is configured to change a transition mode of an operation mode based on a first detection result of the sheet in the sheet holder by the second sensor in response to the detection of the user by the first sensor when the operation mode of the image forming apparatus is a second power-saving mode, which consumes less power than a first power-saving mode.
Motor control apparatus and image forming apparatus that detect rotor position
A motor control apparatus includes: a switching power supply; a first motor configured to operate with a voltage from the switching power supply; and a control unit configured to control the first motor, wherein the control unit is further configured to cause the switching power supply to supply power of the switching power supply to a load other than the first motor before detecting an initial position of a rotor of the first motor using a current flowing through the first motor.
Error detection in temperature sensors of fuser
An image forming apparatus including a print engine, a power supply device, a plurality of temperature sensors, and a processor. The print engine including a fuser. The power supply device to selectively provide power to the fuser. The plurality of temperature sensors including a first temperature sensor and a second temperature sensor to sense temperature of the fuser. The processor to control power supplied to the fuser based on a value measured by at least one temperature sensor from among the plurality of temperature sensors. The processor is to identify whether the at least one temperature sensor of the plurality of temperature sensors has an abnormality based on a first measured temperature value and a second measured temperature value of the plurality of temperature sensors.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Provided is an image forming apparatus, including: an image bearing member; an exposure unit; a developing member which is rotatable at a rotation speed different from the image bearing member; a developer supply member; a developing voltage-applying unit; a supply voltage-applying unit; and a control unit. The control unit controls execution of: an image forming operation in which a developer image is formed by supplying developer on the image bearing member; and a cleaning operation which removes a substance adhered to the image bearing member using the developing member. In the cleaning operation, the control unit controls the developing voltage-applying unit or the supply voltage-applying unit so that the cleaning force using the developing member becomes stronger than that in the image forming operation.
Lock mechanism of drawer unit provided in image forming apparatus
When a sheet jam is detected, a processor may perform the following process. In a case where a sheet is spanning a first conveyance path and a drawer unit, the processor maintains a lock unit in a locked state by supplying power to the lock unit via the drawer unit from a power supply without depending on whether a door is in an open state or a closed state. In a case where a sheet is not spanning the first conveyance path and the drawer unit, the processor controls supplying and disconnecting of power to the drawer unit from the power supply in accordance with whether the door is in a closed state or an open state.
FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A temperature detection section is disposed opposite to a heater so as to be out of contact with the heater, and detects a temperature of the heating element. A spacer is disposed so that the heater and the temperature detection section are out of contact with each other. The spacer includes a separator that separates the temperature detection section from the heater and that has a gap through which the heat is transferred from the heater to the temperature detection section and that melts upon the temperature of the heating element increasing to a specific temperature or higher. The separator after melting fills the gap.
Image forming apparatus that controls voltages to reduce image fogging
A region of an image bearing member that comes into contact with a recording material at a nip in a state in which the recording material is held by the nip is a first region, and a region of the image bearing member that does not come into contact with the recording material at the nip in a state in which the recording material is not held by the nip is a second region. A controller controls to apply a first developing voltage to a developer bearing member when the first region in which a first surface potential has been formed faces a developer bearing member and apply a second developing voltage lower than an absolute value of the first developing voltage to the developer bearing member when the second region in which a second surface potential has been formed faces the developer bearing member.
