FIXING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A fixing device includes: a tubular member extending in an axial direction and supported so as to be rotatable; a heat-generating member extending in the axial direction and in contact with an area between one end and the other end of the tubular member, the heat-generating member generating heat to heat the tubular member by receiving voltage; a pressure member that presses, to an outer circumferential surface of the tubular member, a recording medium having a toner image transferred thereto; and an interrupting member disposed between another portion of the heat-generating member and the tubular member and extending in the axial direction, the interrupting member being in contact with an area between one end and the other end of the heat-generating member and interrupting the voltage applied to the heat-generating member when at least a portion in contact with the heat-generating member reaches or exceeds a threshold temperature.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus comprising a transfer means for transferring, a developer image onto a recording material; a discharging unit for discharging the recording material; a first circuit that applies a first voltage of reverse polarity to the developer to the transfer unit; a second circuit that applies a second voltage of identical polarity to the developer to the transfer unit and the discharging unit; and a control unit. The control unit applies a transfer voltage which is a superposition of the first and the second voltage to the transfer unit, and applies a discharging voltage which is a partial voltage from the second voltage. When the discharging voltage is set to the first value, the control unit reduces the discharging voltage in a case where the transfer voltage is lower than a target value.
Image forming apparatus having a connector with multiple circuits having varying insulation
An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a circuit including both a circuit within a fixing unit and a power control circuit, provided with a first circuit which supplies power to a heater from an AC power supply, a second circuit electrically insulated from the first circuit, and a third circuit electrically insulated from both the first circuit and the second circuit, all of the first to third circuits are provided on at least one surface of a circuit board, and the first to third circuits are disposed on at least one straight line on which all of the first to third circuits are present on the one surface of the circuit board in the order of the first circuit, the third circuit and the second circuit.
Adjusting print apparatus light sources
A light source adjustment apparatus is disclosed. The light source adjustment apparatus includes processing apparatus to receive a scanned image of a pattern printed by a print apparatus onto a printable medium, the pattern including a plurality of blocks of print agent of a first colour printed during a printing operation in which light sources of a light source array irradiate a photoconductive surface; analyse the scanned image to identify a region of non-uniformity within the plurality of blocks of print agent; correlate a location of the identified region of non-uniformity with a corresponding light source in the light source array; determine, based on the identified region of non-uniformity, an adjustment to be made to a parameter of the corresponding light source; and generate a signal to effect the determined parameter adjustment with regard to the corresponding light source. A method and a print apparatus are also disclosed.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
The present disclosure provides a high productivity image forming apparatus in which a control unit calculates power to be used in the apparatus in a case where a throughput thereof is increased and compares the power to be used and suppliable power to the apparatus to determine whether the throughput is to be increased or not.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INFORMATION PROCESSING
An information processing apparatus includes a first processor and a second processor. The first processor is operable to perform first processing and second processing in one of a plurality of operating states. The operating states includes a normal state and a power-saving state. The power-saving state is a state in which the first processor consumes less power than the normal state. The second processor is operable to perform the second processing while consuming less power than the first processor does. The second processor detects the first processing that the second processor is not able to perform. The second processor also causes the first processor to transition from the sleep state to the power-saving state to perform the first processing when the first processor is in a sleep state in which a power supply is stopped.
MOTOR CONTROL APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS THAT DETECT ROTOR POSITION
A motor control apparatus includes: a switching power supply; a first motor configured to operate with a voltage from the switching power supply; and a control unit configured to control the first motor, wherein the control unit is further configured to cause the switching power supply to supply power of the switching power supply to a load other than the first motor before detecting an initial position of a rotor of the first motor using a current flowing through the first motor.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE, METHOD OF CONTROLLING ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-EXECUTABLE MEDIUM
An electronic device includes circuitry. The circuitry controls a state transition between an operation ready state and a low power state, the low power state being a state whose standby power is lower than standby power of the operation ready state. The circuitry calculates a predicted time period required for the electronic device to transit to the low power state. The circuitry selects, from a plurality of device diagnoses, a particular device diagnosis whose execution is completed within the calculated predicted time period. The circuitry executes the selected particular device diagnosis.
CARTRIDGE, SUPPLY CONTAINER, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A cartridge is configured to be attachable to a main body of an image forming apparatus and configured to receive toner supplied from a supply container. The cartridge includes a supply port configured to receive the toner supplied from the supply container, a shutter member configured to cover the supply port, and a locking member. The locking member is moved from a lock position to an unlock position to allow movement of the shutter member by using electric power supplied from the main body.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer, an image forming device to form a toner image on the image bearer with toner, a power source to output a bias to transfer the toner image onto a recording medium, and control circuitry. The circuitry controls the power source to decrease a peak-to-peak voltage of the bias in response to increase in at least one of temperature and humidity, when a time-averaged voltage of the bias is on a transfer side of transferring the toner to the recording medium, from a median value of maximum and minimum voltages of the bias. The circuitry controls the power source to increase the peak-to-peak voltage of the bias in response to increase in at least one of temperature and humidity, when the time-averaged voltage of the bias is on a return side of returning the toner to the image bearer, from the median value.
