Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image former, an informing unit, and a hardware processor. The image former prints an image on continuous paper by: forming an electrostatic latent image on an image holder based on image information of a job; developing the electrostatic latent image with toner, thereby forming a toner image on the image holder; and transferring the toner image onto the continuous paper. Based on the image information of the job, the hardware processor calculates a coverage of the image to be printed on the continuous paper. Based on the calculated coverage, the hardware processor determines a continuously printable distance on the continuous paper. The hardware processor causes the informing unit to inform a user of the continuously printable distance before the image former starts the printing.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An energization controlling portion selectively controls energization of a plurality of heat generating elements so that electric power to be supplied to the heat generating elements to heat a non-image heating region, through which an image formed on a recording material does not pass, among a plurality of heating regions of an image heating portion, is smaller than electric power to be supplied to the heat generating elements to heat an image heating region, through which the image passes, among the plurality of heating regions. When an abnormality detecting portion detects an abnormality in an image forming apparatus, the energization controlling portion increases the electric power to be supplied to the heat generating elements to heat the non-image heating region.
Image forming apparatus granting access and authorization to client or server to perform remote support service according to list of operations selected by the image forming apparatus
A method of controlling an image forming apparatus is provided. The method includes requesting a remote support service from a terminal or a server connected to the terminal, receiving a request for an access authorization regarding an operation related to the remote support service from the terminal, granting the access authorization to the terminal based on a user input or a pre-set setting, receiving a control command for the remote support service from the terminal, and executing an operation corresponding to the control command according to the access authorization granted to the terminal.
Null segments in print jobs
According to examples, a method comprises receiving, at a processor, print job data relating to a print job to be performed by a print apparatus, the print job data defining order in which a plurality of colour separation images are to be transferred onto an imaging surface of the print apparatus. The method may comprise determining, based on the print job data, a number of null segments to be inserted into the print job and a location at which each null segment is to be inserted amongst the plurality of colour separation images. A print apparatus and a machine-readable machine are also disclosed.
Image forming apparatus, image forming system, control method, and recording medium
An image forming apparatus includes a printing device to perform normal printing of a job according to a setting, and processing circuitry to: accept a request for executing printing of another job while the printing device is performing the normal printing of the job according to the setting; when the request for executing printing of another job is a request for executing trial printing, control the printing device to interrupt the normal printing of the job to perform the trial printing of the another job; and control an ejection device to discharge a recording medium printed in the normal printing of the job and a recording medium printed in the trial printing of the another job on different sheet discharge trays.
Image forming apparatus including an illuminator to illuminate a work target located in a space between an image reader and an image former
An image forming apparatus of an internal ejection type in which a sheet ejection space is provided between an image reader and an image former, the image forming apparatus includes: an illuminator provided on a wall surface partitioning the sheet ejection space; a detector that detects a position of a work target enabled to move in pulling-out and storing directions within the sheet ejection space; and a controller that performs on/off control of the illuminator depending on a detection position of the detector, wherein in a case where it is detected that the work target is in a work position for performing human work, the controller performs on/off control of the illuminator to illuminate a work target portion that faces an interior of the sheet ejection space of the work target and is subjected to the human work.
Image forming apparatus capable of transporting jammed recording medium
An image forming apparatus includes plural first transfer units, a second transfer unit, a first transport unit, and a drive unit. The first transfer units transfer an image formed on plural image holding units to an intermediate transfer unit. The second transfer unit transfers the image, which is transferred to the intermediate transfer unit, to a recording medium. The first transport unit transports the recording medium to the second transfer unit. The drive unit drives the intermediate transfer unit with at least some of the plural first transfer units separated from the intermediate transfer unit and with the second transfer unit contacting the intermediate transfer unit when the recording medium, which has been subjected to a transport failure, is transported to a feeding position by the first transport unit.
IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
An image forming system includes: an image former that forms an image on a sheet; a first hardware processor that inspects the image formed on the sheet being conveyed and determines whether the sheet is normal or abnormal; a normal sheet tray to which the sheet determined as normal is discharged; an abnormal sheet tray to which the sheet determined as abnormal is discharged; an operation panel that accepts an input to utilize the sheet discharged to the abnormal sheet tray; and a second hardware processor that: causes the image former to execute image formation of a page of the sheet determined as abnormal; and cancels the image formation of a page of the utilized sheet in a different copy when the operation panel accepts the input to utilize the sheet discharged to the abnormal sheet tray.
Image forming apparatus that controls heater depending on a detection of abnormality
Image forming apparatus, control method of image forming apparatus having print page setting, and storage medium
An image forming apparatus includes at least one memory that stores instructions, and at least one processor to execute the instructions to set a limit of a number of print pages, and receive a print job from an external apparatus. In a case where the received print job is a reserved print job for which a print setting has been made to wait for printing until a print start time specified by a user, a first counter indicating a reserved number of print pages based on the received reserved print job before starting execution of the received reserved print job is updated, and a second counter relating to an upper limit of a number of print pages in accordance with execution of printing based on the received print job is updated. In a case where a new print job is received in a state where a sum of the first counter and the second counter has reached the set limit of the number of print pages, a user is notified of a predetermined error.
