An image forming apparatus includes a first display portion to display a ratio of an amount of toner accommodated in the developer container to a maximum amount of toner that the developer container is capable of accommodating, and a controller to, in a case where a replenishment operation, in which toner is supplied from the replenishment container to the replenishment port, is performed when a second display portion is in a second state, switch the second display portion from the second state to a first state and perform a display processing of displaying, on the first display portion, the ratio corresponding to an amount of toner accommodated in the developer container after the replenishment operation.

An image forming apparatus includes a mounting portion, a lock mechanism, an image forming unit, a first detection processing unit, a second detection processing unit, a first release processing unit, and a second release processing unit. The first detection processing unit detects a first state where a remaining amount of the developer is less than a predetermined first reference amount. The second detection processing unit detects a second state where the remaining amount of the developer is equal to or more than the first reference amount and less than a predetermined second reference amount. The second reference amount is larger than the first reference amount. The first release processing unit releases the regulation on the attachment/removal of the developer housing portion when the first state is detected. The second release processing unit releases the regulation when unit the second state is detected and a predetermined release condition is met.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming portion that includes a developing portion configured to supply toner to an image bearing member bearing an electrostatic latent image formed thereon to develop the electrostatic latent image as a toner image, and is configured to form a toner image on a long paper sheet; a notification portion configured to notify a user about information; and a control portion configured to calculate, in accordance with coverage of a toner image that is a target of image formation, a toner image formation distance with which successive image formation is possible without forcibly discharging degraded toner from the developing portion, and to control the notification portion to notify the calculated toner image formation distance as a first toner image formation distance.

An image forming apparatus includes an operating section. The operating section projects forward from an upper housing of the image forming apparatus. The operating section includes an input section and a display section. The input section is for receiving input of image forming information. The display section is disposed adjacent to the input section and displays the image forming information thereon. A position of the display section is switchable between a first position and a second position. The first position is where the display section is flush with the input section. The second position is where the display section is tilted forward more than the input section, by turning the display section on a front edge side of the display section as a pivot to raise a rear edge side of the display section upward from the first position.

A friction member that abuts against a rotating member being fixed to a display portion and that stops the rotating member being fixed to a display portion by frictional resistance of an abutting surface accommodates the rotating member into a predetermined accommodating position in a reliable manner by changing a frictional force of the friction member.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a plurality of parts, an acquisition unit, and a control unit. The plurality of parts are used in the image forming process and are replaced according to the degree of use. The acquisition unit acquires, for each of the parts, use-related information that is information indicating the degree of use of the plurality of parts. The control unit determines the replacement timing of the part using the plurality of pieces of use-related information acquired by the acquisition unit and the determination condition regarding the replacement timing of the part.

A switching device includes a keytop and a switching part. The keytop is exposed from an opening of an exterior cover of a housing. The switching part is pushed by the keytop. The switching part includes a head portion on which a pushing operation is received and a cover portion covering the opening of the exterior cover around the head portion. Disclosed is an image forming apparatus which includes: a frame with an image forming portion; an operation unit being arranged to be movable with respect to a top surface of the frame; a cable with an electric wire which connects the frame and the operation unit; and an outlet provided on the frame or the operation unit, wherein the cable includes: an elastic member provided along the electric wire from the frame to the operation unit, the elastic member having a width equal to or greater than a diameter of the electric wire; and a protruding portion with elasticity, provided on a side of the elastic member on which the electric wire is arranged such that the protruding portion protrudes from the side of the elastic member, the protruding portion having a height which is equal to or greater than the diameter of the wire.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit configured to form an image on contiguous paper; a job selecting unit configured to select a plurality of jobs to be continuously executed, by user operation; an amount-of-blank setting unit configured to set an amount of blank to be inserted between the plurality of jobs selected by the job selecting unit, by user operation; and a control unit configured to cause the image forming unit to form the image such that a blank of the amount of blank set by the amount-of-blank setting unit is inserted between the plurality of jobs.
