The reading device is configured to read printed matter with an image that is printed on a printing medium based on a source image to generate a read image. The processor is configured to generate a reference image based on the source image, determine whether an inspection is to be executed based on a size of the source image and a size of the printing medium, and compare the reference image with the read image to inspect quality of the printed matter in response to a determination that the inspection is to be executed.

Provided is an image forming apparatus including: an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet fed from a container; a trailing edge regulating plate, which is movable in a feeding direction inside the container, and is configured to regulate a trailing edge position of the sheet; a detector configured to automatically detect a sheet size based on the position of the trailing edge regulating plate; and a receiver configured to receive a size of the sheet to be set for the container as a user set size.

A condition acquiring device is for acquiring condition information including binding position information and image direction information. A dividing condition setting device is for specifying at least one dividing position and a dividing order of an original image, according to an image formation rule for deriving the at least one dividing position and the dividing order in response to a combination of what are designated by the image direction information and the binding position information. An image processing device is for dividing the original image at the at least one dividing position into a plurality of divided images. The print processing device is for forming the plurality of divided images respectively on a plurality of sheets sequentially conveyed by a conveying mechanism according to the dividing order.

A print system and printing apparatus are provided. The print system prints an image on a sheet according to a print job, generates a scanned image by reading a printed sheet, and inspects an image on the printed sheet based on the generated scanned image and stored reference image. In a case that the print job is accompanied by inspection and sheet outage is detected in the paper feeding unit that is the feed source, the print system performs control so as not to allow selection of a paper feeding unit that stores sheets whose sheet information is different from sheet information set for the paper feeding unit that is the feed source.

In an image forming apparatus that employs a laser scanning optical system that does not use an f lens, in the case where magnification correction by insertion/removal of an auxiliary pixel is performed based on the premise of digital PWM, an insertion/removal position of an auxiliary pixel is controlled in accordance with a purpose of each piece of image processing.

Provided is a technique that can suitably form a cut line. According to one embodiment, an image forming device includes a line information generation unit and an image forming unit. The line information generation unit generates line information representing a cut line to cut out a main image formed on a recording medium. The image forming unit forms the main image with a non-decolorable material on the recording medium and forms the cut line represented by the line information with a decolorable material on the recording medium. The line information generation unit changes a level of curving of a curve included in the cut line, according to the recording medium.

An image forming apparatus includes a stacker on which an envelope is to be stacked, an image forming device to form an image on the envelope conveyed from the stacker, an operation device to display a screen for prompting a user to set a size of the envelope and an orientation of the envelop to be stacked on the stacker. The orientation of the envelope accepted by the operation device is one of a first orientation, in which the flap and the body portion are aligned in a width direction that is orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the envelope, and a second orientation, in which the flap and the body portion are aligned in the conveyance direction of the envelope. A controller controls the operation device to display a guidance image based on the size of the envelope and the orientation of the envelope accepted by the operation device.

An information processing apparatus includes: a receiver to receive from a terminal device, for each page of an image to be printed with an image processing device, one-page data included in electronic data of the image to be printed; and circuitry to: determine whether an output destination device to which a print medium having the printed image is output has been changed and whether a medium size of the print medium has been changed to generate a first determination result; request the image processing device to determine whether the output destination device permits mixture of different medium sizes to obtain a second determination result when the first determination result indicates that at least one of the output destination device and the medium size has been changed; and output a notification when the second determination result indicates that the output destination device does not permit the mixture of the different medium sizes.

In an image forming apparatus, when images are formed on a plurality of sheets, a controller controls an image forming unit to form a measurement image between an image which is to be transferred to a first sheet of the plurality of sheets and an image which is to be transferred to a second sheet of the plurality of sheets, controls a sensor to measure the measurement image, determines a feedback condition based on a length of each of the plurality of sheets in a conveyance direction, and controls an image forming condition based on a result of measurement performed by the sensor and the determined feedback condition, wherein the image which is to be transferred to the second sheet of the plurality of sheets is adjacent to the image which is to be transferred to the first sheet of the plurality of sheets on an image bearing member.
