DETERMINING OXIDATION OF PHOTOCONDUCTOR MEMBERS
A method is described in which a spectrum of a surface of a photoconductor member is obtained using optical spectroscopy; and an extent of oxidation of the surface is determined based on the obtained spectrum.
STACKED-SHEET DETECTION DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A stacked-sheet detection device includes a main shaft portion, a first detection arm portion, a parallel shaft portion, a second detection arm portion, an interlocking arm portion, a detected portion, and a detection sensor. The second detection arm portion is provided outside a first passing range, rotates in a predefined rotation direction and causes the interlocking arm portion to rotate in the predefined rotation direction by contacting a sheet that passes through a second passing range. When at least one of the first detection arm portion and the interlocking arm portion rotates in the predefined rotation direction, the main shaft portion rotates in the predefined rotation direction, and the detected portion rotates in the predefined rotation direction.
Developing device, memory unit thereof, and image forming apparatus
A developing device to prevent damage of a memory unit and poor connection between terminals of the memory unit and a main body of an image forming apparatus, by improving a mounting position of the memory unit. The developing device is removably mounted to a main body of the image forming apparatus. The memory unit includes terminals exposed through a rear side of the developing device. The memory unit is disposed closer to a power reception unit formed at one side of the developing device than to a driving force reception unit formed at an other side of the developing device.
Information storage system including a plurality of terminals
A toner container includes a container body, an opening, a cover, a toner discharge port, a shutter, a cylindrical structure, protrusions, and an identifier. The shutter is attached to the cover and includes a main shutter covering the toner discharge port. The main shutter moves between a closed position to close the toner discharge port and an open position to open the toner discharge port. The protrusions are on both sides of the cover and protrude in a direction orthogonal to a toner container mounting direction. The identifier is on the cover to indicate a toner color. The cylindrical structure's leading end is downstream of leading ends of the protrusions in the mounting direction. The main shutter's leading end is downstream of the protrusions' leading ends in the mounting direction when the main shutter is in the closed position. The protrusions are downstream of the identifier in the mounting direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS HAVING PROCESS CARTRIDGE, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus which is capable of prompting a user to replace a process cartridge. The process cartridge is comprised of a plurality of components. At least CPU executes instructions to obtain life span information indicating life spans of the components of the process cartridge, determine whether or not the process cartridge is a specific process cartridge for which life span information on a part of the components of the process cartridge is obtained whereas life span information on all the components of the cartridge is not obtained, calculate a life span of the process cartridge, and provide notification of the calculated life span of the process cartridge. When the process cartridge is the specific process cartridge, the life span of the process cartridge is calculated based on only the obtained life span information on the components.
Printing apparatus, control method thereof and storage medium
An object of one embodiment of the present disclosure is to accurately suppress a color shift. One embodiment of the present disclosure is a printing apparatus including: a print head having a nozzle column including a plurality of nozzles through which ink is ejected; an acquiring unit configured to acquire a measurement value by reading a tone patch pattern printed by the print head; and a setting unit configured to set a printing characteristic based on the measurement value and a target value, and the printing apparatus further includes a determination unit configured to determine whether or not reading has been performed normally based on a variation amount calculated by using the measurement value.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member; a charging member configured to electrically charge the photosensitive member; a developing device configured to form a toner image by supplying toner to the photosensitive member; a transfer member configured to transfer the toner image from the photosensitive member onto a toner image receiving member; a cleaning member provided in contact with the photosensitive member and configured to remove the toner remaining on a surface of the photosensitive member after transfer; and a controller configured to carry out a process for notifying information on a lifetime of the charging member, on the basis of use amount information on a use amount of the charging member and contact pressure information on contact pressure applied by the cleaning member to the photosensitive member.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING TRANSFER UNIT AND CAPABLE OF DETERMINING LIFETIME OF TRANSFER UNIT
An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, a transfer unit, a voltage supply circuit, and a controller. The transfer unit is configured to transfer developer onto a printing medium from the photosensitive drum. The voltage supply circuit is configured to supply voltage to the transfer unit. The controller is electrically connected to the voltage supply circuit. The controller is configured to: calculate a cumulative voltage value, the cumulative voltage value being a total of supplied voltage to the transfer unit from the voltage supply circuit after using the transfer unit is started; and determine how long a lifetime of the transfer unit remains based on the calculated cumulative voltage value.
