Reflective sheet coupling
One example includes a device that is comprised of a cover housing, a reflective sheet, a coupler, and a fastener. The reflective sheet may hold media against a planar transparent scanning area of the device. The coupler may removably attach the reflective sheet to the cover housing, the coupler having a resilient member to exert an axial restoring force between the reflective sheet and the cover housing. The fastener may fix the coupler to the reflective sheet.

An image forming apparatus comprises a tray, a conveyor, a detector and a movement mechanism. The tray accommodates at least one document. The conveyor conveys the document placed on the tray. The detector detects that the document is placed on the tray. The movement mechanism moves the tray from a first position to a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position based on the detection that the document is placed on the tray, and after moving the tray from the first position to the second position, moves the tray to the first position based on a setting of a mixed stacking mode in which mixing of the documents with different sizes on the tray is permitted.
Sheet conveying device and image forming apparatus
A sheet conveying device includes a supporting shaft, a rotating unit removable from an installation portion, a movable shaft, and an interlocking device. The rotating unit includes first and second ends, a holding member that holds a rotating body that conveys a sheet. The supporting shaft supports the rotating unit at the first end in an axial direction of the rotating body. The movable shaft is movable in the axial direction and supports the second end. The interlocking device moves the movable shaft per the rotating unit movement. Where the rotating unit is to be moved at a moving amount towards a side in which the rotating unit separates from the supporting shaft as part of removing the rotating unit from the installation portion, the interlocking device moves the movable shaft in the axial direction at a moving amount that is larger than the moving amount the rotating unit.

An image forming apparatus comprises a tray, a conveyor, a detector and a movement mechanism. The tray accommodates at least one document. The conveyor conveys the document placed on the tray. The detector detects that the document is placed on the tray. The movement mechanism moves the tray from a first position to a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position based on the detection that the document is placed on the tray, and after moving the tray from the first position to the second position, moves the tray to the first position based on a setting of a mixed stacking mode in which mixing of the documents with different sizes on the tray is permitted.

An image reading device includes an image reader movable along an image reading face, a casing to house the image reader, including a restraint holder, and a restraint to be held by the restraint holder of the casing and configured to restrict movement of the image reader. The restraint includes an operation portion to be disposed outside the casing. The operation portion is operated to move the restraint, in the restraint holder, to: a restricting position to restrict movement of the image reader; a first unlock position to cancel restriction of movement of the image reader; and a second unlock position at which movement of the image reader is not restricted. At the first unlock position, movement of the restraint to the restricting position is allowed. From the second unlock position, movement to the restricting position is less smooth than movement from the first unlock position to the restricting position.

An image forming apparatus includes an image scanning device, which comprises: a document tray to load an original document to be scanned; a discharge tray to load the original document after being scanned; and a frame which the document tray and the discharge tray are mounted on. The frame contains a conveying structure to convey the original document along the conveyance path; a transparent support member located below the conveyance path to support the original document; a scanning member located below the transparent support member, the scanning member having a scanning position in which the scanning member scans the original document when being located on the transparent support member; and a pressing member disposed above the transparent support member and facing the scanning member for pressing the original document onto the transparent support member.

A scanner cover including a first plate and a second plate is provided. The first plate has a first surface; multiple compressible and deformable elastic structures are arranged protruding on the first surface. The second plate is stacked on the first plate and the second plate has a second surface facing to the first surface, the elastic structures are contacted with the second surface, and deformation of each elastic structure is contained in the second plate while the elastic structures are compressed. While the first plate and the second plate are pressed to move close to each other, the elastic structures are compressed and a restoring force is thereby provided between the first plate and the second plate.
