A fixing device includes a heating rotating member having a conductive layer and an exposed portion in which the conductive layer is partially exposed, and a roller including a metal core and an elastic portion, the roller forming a nip portion with the heating rotating member, the elastic portion being elastically deformed in a region where the nip portion is formed, wherein an annular conductive member provided in a longitudinal end portion of the metal core is in contact with the exposed portion of the heating rotating member while elastically deformed, and wherein in a state where the roller is not mounted to the fixing device, an outer diameter of the conductive member is smaller than an outer diameter of the elastic portion.

Occurrence of a half-latch state when pushing a sheet stacking unit into a sheet feeding apparatus at an angle can be prevented. More specifically, inside a sheet feeding apparatus that accommodates and fixes the sheet stacking unit, a latch assembly in which left and right latches and a connecting portion that connects the two latches are configured and that operates integrally is provided. By this, even when one roller of the sheet stacking unit contacts one latch which rides up on the roller in a case where the sheet stacking unit is pushed into the sheet feeding apparatus at an angle, it is possible to hold off on engagement of the latches until the other roller passes the other latch.

A fixing device includes a hollow rotating body, a pressing member that applies pressure to a recording medium and transports the recording medium in a transport direction along with rotation of the rotating body, a heating member that is in contact with the rotating body while extending in an axial direction perpendicular to the transport direction, and a holding member that holds the heating member. The heating member includes a contact portion and non-contact portions, the contact portion has a first end portion on a downstream side of the contact portion in the transport direction, each non-contact portion has a second end portion on the downstream side in the transport direction, and each second end portion is thicker than the first end portion in a direction perpendicular to the transport and axial directions. The holding member is in contact with the second end portions in the transport direction.

An image forming apparatus comprises an accommodating unit that accommodates recording materials and has a regulating plate that regulates a trailing edge of the recording material in a feeding direction, detects a recording material fed from the accommodating unit, and measures time from a predetermined timing until a recording material is detected. An information processing apparatus receives time data obtained by a measuring unit from the image forming apparatus, classifies a plurality of time data received from a reception unit into a first group and a second group in accordance with a length of time, and determines using time data included in the first group and the time data included in the second group whether a position of the regulating plate is misaligned in relation to a reference position that corresponds to a size of the recording material accommodated on the accommodating unit.

In an example, a conditioner module may include a bridge to receive media from a media path of an imaging device and to deliver the media to a media input of a finisher module. The conditioner module may include a calender nip disposed at an output end of the bridge. The calender nip may compress the media and may feed the media into the media input of the finisher module.

A fixing device includes a hollow rotating body that rotates about an axis of the rotating body, a pressing member that applies, together with the rotating body, pressure to a recording medium and transports the recording medium in a transport direction along with rotation of the rotating body, a heating member that is disposed in such a manner as to be in contact with an inner surface of the rotating body while extending in an axial direction perpendicular to the transport direction and that heats the rotating body, the heating member including a contact portion at least a portion of which is brought into contact with the inner surface and non-contact portions that are positioned on either side of the contact portion in the axial direction in such a manner as not to be in contact with the rotating body and each of which has a second end portion thicker than a first end portion of the contact portion on a downstream side in the transport direction, and a holding member that holds the heating member by being brought into contact with at least the second end portions in the transport direction.

In a feeding direction of a recording material, a recording material cooling device is provided downstream of a fixing device, a curl reducing device is provided downstream of the recording material cooling device, and another recording material cooling device is provided downstream of the curl reducing device. By this configuration, occurrence of image defect by the recording material cooling device during the feeding of the recording material can be suppressed, and the curling of the recording material can be reduced after the recording material is cooled.

A transfer unit includes a reading unit to read an image on a sheet conveyed along a conveyance path, a first signal transmission member having a flat shape and is connected to the reading unit, and a relay member connected to the first signal transmission member. The relay member relays a signal from the first signal transmission member, and a second signal transmission member having a round shape and is connected to the relay member. The second signal transmission member leads into an apparatus body from an inner portion of the transfer unit in an axial direction of a first rotation shaft.

Sheet feeding has been started after storing image data for one page of a document. A control method for a printing apparatus includes feeding a sheet from a sheet holding unit by a feeding unit, reading an image of a document by a reading unit, storing image data of the document read by the reading unit in a storing unit, and reading out, before image data for one page of the document is stored in the storing unit, the image data of the document from the storing unit and printing, by a printing unit, the image based on the read image data to the sheet fed from the sheet holding unit by the feeding unit, in which the feeding unit is able to start to feed the sheet from the sheet holding unit before the image data for the one page of the document is stored in the storing unit.

An inadvertent swing of a steering roller is restricted with a versatile configuration. A belt conveying device includes a belt member configured to be stretched around a steering roller and a roller member, and a movement mechanism configured to move the roller member. The roller member is movable to a first position and a second position where the roller member is moved further inward on an inner peripheral side of the belt member than the first position by the movement mechanism. In the movement mechanism, a restriction portion capable of restricting a swinging range of the steering roller more in a case where the roller member is at the second position than in a case where the roller member is at the first position is provided.
