A process cartridge includes: a toner cartridge including: a toner housing accommodating toner and having a toner discharge hole; and a toner shutter movable between a closed position closing the toner discharge hole and an opened position opening the toner discharge hole with respect to the toner discharge hole; and a drum cartridge including: a photosensitive drum rotatable about a drum axis extending in a first direction; and a drum frame supporting the photosensitive drum, wherein in a state the toner cartridge is mounted to the drum cartridge, the toner housing is rotatable about an axis between a first position in which the toner shutter is located in the closed position and a second position in which the toner shutter is located in the opened position, the axis extending in a second direction intersecting with the first direction.

An electrophotographic photosensitive member, including a cylindrical support, a charge generating layer formed on the cylindrical support, and a charge transport layer formed on the charge generating layer, in which in the charge generating layer, when a region from a central position of an image forming region to an end position of the image forming region in an axis direction of the cylindrical support is divided equally into five regions, film thicknesses of the charge generating layers in each of the regions satisfy a specific relationship with each other, and in the charge transport layer, when a region from the central position of the image forming region to the end position of the image forming region in the axis direction of the cylindrical support is divided equally into five regions, film thicknesses of the charge transport layers in each of the regions satisfy a specific relationship with each other.

The image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a photoreceptor, a charger that charges a surface of the photoreceptor, an exposer that irradiates the charged surface of the photoreceptor with light to form an electrostatic latent image, a developer that develops the electrostatic latent image to form a toner image, a transferer that transfers the toner image onto a recording medium, a cleaner that removes residual toner on the surface of the photoreceptor, and an inductor. The photoreceptor includes a conductive substrate and a photoreceptive layer provided on the conductive substrate. The conductive substrate is connected to a ground via the inductor.

An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image bearers and a rotatable transferor. Images borne on the plurality of image bearers are transferred to the transferor. The transferor has an elastic power larger than an elastic power of each of the plurality of image bearers, and a difference in elastic power between the transferor and a most upstream image bearer in a rotation direction of the transferor is smaller than a difference in elastic power between the transferor and any other image bearer except the most upstream image bearer of the plurality of image bearers.

A drum unit includes a photosensitive drum in a coupling member. The coupling member includes an engageable member having a driving force receiving portion which is capable of entering a recess of a driving shaft to receive a driving force for rotating photosensitive drum. The coupling member includes a holding member configured to hold said engageable member so as to be slidable at least in a radial direction of said drum unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a drum cartridge and developing cartridge. The drum cartridge may include a photosensitive drum rotatable about a first axis extending in an axial direction. The developing cartridge may include a developing roller rotatable about a second axis extending in the axial direction. The image forming apparatus may include a main casing including a slot extending in the axial direction. The image forming apparatus may include a first inner surface positioned inside of the slot, and a second inner surface positioned inside of the slot farther from the cover in the axial direction than the first inner surface from the cover in the axial direction. The first and second inner surfaces may be configured to press the developing roller toward the photosensitive drum.

A fixing device includes a first rotating body, a second rotating body, a frame, a shutter, a pressure arm, a cam, a shutter arm, and an arm cam. The shutter is rotatable about a first axis between a closed position and an open position. The pressure arm presses the first rotating body against the second rotating body. The cam is rotatable about a second axis and pushes the pressure arm. The shutter arm is connected to the shutter and rotates about the second axis independent of the cam, to cause the shutter to rotate between the closed position and the open position. The arm cam rotates about the second axis to push the shutter arm at a position offset from the second axis and cause the shutter arm to rotate about the second axis.

A cartridge includes a photosensitive drum rotatable about an axis thereof and a drum flange provided at one end portion of the photosensitive drum. The cartridge also includes a coupling member operatively connected to the drum flange, with the coupling member being configured to transmit a driving force to the drum flange. The coupling member includes at least one projection for receiving the driving force, with the at least one projection being movable with the coupling member in the direction of the axis of the photosensitive drum. A spring is provided to urge the coupling member along the axis of the photosensitive drum. At least a part of the spring and at least a part of the coupling member are positioned within a hollow interior portion of the drum flange.

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a charger, a light exposure device, a development device, a transfer belt, a primary transfer device, a secondary transfer device, and a cleaning member. The cleaning member is pressed against a circumferential surface of the image bearing member and collects residual toner remaining on the circumferential surface of the image bearing member as a result of primary transfer of a toner. The transfer belt has a surface resistivity of at least 6 Log Ω and no greater than 11 Log Ω. A linear pressure of the cleaning member on the circumferential surface of the image bearing member is at least 10 N/m and no greater than 40 N/m. The image bearing member includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer of a single layer. An image forming apparatus includes a drum cartridge and developing cartridge. The drum cartridge may include a photosensitive drum rotatable about a first axis extending in an axial direction. The developing cartridge may include a developing roller rotatable about a second axis extending in the axial direction. The image forming apparatus may include a main casing including a slot extending in the axial direction. The image forming apparatus may include a first inner surface positioned inside of the slot, and a second inner surface positioned inside of the slot farther from the cover in the axial direction than the first inner surface from the cover in the axial direction. The first and second inner surfaces may be configured to press the developing roller toward the photosensitive drum.
