An electrophotographic photosensitive member includes a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer is a single layer and contains a charge generating material, an electron transport material, a binder resin, and a hole transport material. The electron transport material includes a compound represented by general formula (1):
##STR00001##
In general formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represent, independently of one another, a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a heterocyclic group, an alkoxy group, an aralkyl group, an allyl group, or an aryl group optionally substituted with at least 1 and no more than 5 substituents selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, an alkyl group, and alkoxy group.
MAGNETIC CARRIER BEAD SEPARATION
Examples disclosed herein relate to magnetic carrier bead separation in dual-component printing. The present disclosure relates generally to a device, method, and system for magnetic carrier bead separation. In an example, a printing device includes a developer sump to hold a plurality of carrier beads. The example device also includes a roller to move a subset of the plurality of carrier beads from an attachment point on the roller to a release point through a rotation of the roller, wherein the subset of the plurality of carrier beads return towards the developer sump after they are released at the release point. The device includes a magnetic separator located between the release point and the attachment point that guides a magnetized carrier bead of the plurality of carrier beads away from the developer sump and the roller.
Cleaning member used in image forming apparatus including optical print head, and image forming apparatus including optical print head
A cleaning member that is used in an image forming apparatus and that is inserted from outside the image forming apparatus, the apparatus including a holding body that holds a substrate on which light emitting elements that expose a photosensitive drum are aligned and that holds lenses, the cleaning member including a rod-shaped rhabdoid formed of resin, a cleaning portion provided in the rhabdoid to clean a light emission surface of each lens, the cleaning portion moving together with the rhabdoid inserted in the image forming apparatus and opposing the light emission surface in an optical axis direction of the lens, and a magnet provided on the rhabdoid, the magnet emitting magnetic force that generates force drawing the holding body thereto so that the cleaning portion continues to contact the light emission surface.
Developing device
A developing device includes a developing container, a developing roller, a supplying roller, a first magnet including a first magnetic pole, a second magnet including a second magnetic pole and a third magnetic pole, and a regulating member provided opposed to the third magnetic pole. During non-image formation, an operation in a mode in which the supplying roller is rotated in a direction opposite to a rotational direction of the supplying roller during image formation is executable. With respect to the rotational direction of the supplying roller during the image formation, a position where a magnet flux density of the third magnetic pole in a tangential direction to an outer peripheral surface of the supplying roller is zero is positioned downstream of an upstream end of the regulating member and upstream of the second magnetic pole.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus comprises a plurality of sheet detection units, provided at different positions along a sheet width direction, configured to detect the sheet conveyed on a conveyance path. A controller determines, by using the plurality of sheet detection units, a presence or absence of a sheet being conveyed in each of a plurality of regions sectioned in the sheet width direction, and determines, based on input image data, a presence or absence of an image to be formed in each of the plurality of regions. The controller further determines, based on the above determination results, whether or not the image to be formed on the sheet being conveyed is to be formed with a deviation from the sheet, and controls an image forming operation in accordance with this determination result.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, an intermediate transfer belt, first, second, and third power sources, and a control unit. During print job execution, the control unit controls the third power source such that a discharge current supplied to the intermediate transfer belt is constant current controlled based on first and second power source current supply detection results. When changing from a first to a second discharge current, the control unit controls the third power source such that, after a first image forming region passes through a primary transfer portion, an intermediate transfer belt trailing edge to which the first discharge current is supplied initially passes through the primary transfer portion and such that, before a second image forming region passes through the primary transfer portion, an intermediate transfer belt leading edge to which the second discharge current is supplied initially passes through the primary transfer portion.
Image forming apparatus with lubricant applicator
An image forming apparatus includes a lubricant application device to apply a lubricant to a photoreceptor surface of the image forming apparatus, and a lubricant residual amount detector to detect a residual amount of the lubricant. The residual amount of the lubricant is compared to a predetermined amount, and a charging device charges the photoreceptor surface by selectively applying a DC voltage of varying voltage to the photoreceptor surface in response to the comparison of the residual amount of the lubricant to the predetermined amount.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an intermediate transfer member that contacts an image bearing member to form a primary transfer portion, contacts a secondary transfer member to form a secondary transfer portion, and contacts a charging member that can receive a voltage from a charging power source, to form a charging portion. A toner image borne on the image bearing member is primarily transferred to the intermediate transfer member and secondarily transferred to a transfer material. If toner remains on the intermediate transfer member, the charging member electrically charges the remaining toner. If driving of the intermediate transfer member causes toner to drop onto the intermediate transfer member from the charging member, The timing at which to start image formation is controlled to prevent the dropped toner from moving to a transfer material conveyed to the secondary transfer portion.
Cleaning member used in image forming apparatus including optical print head, and image forming apparatus including optical print head
