An image forming device includes: a main casing; a retaining unit; a feed tray; and a pickup roller. The retaining unit retains a plurality of photosensitive drums juxtaposedly arrayed and spaced away from each other in an array direction. The retaining unit is movable in the array direction between a mounted position in which the retaining unit is mounted in the main casing and a pulled-out position in which the retaining unit is pulled out of the main casing. The feed tray is configured to accommodate a first transferred medium. The pickup roller is configured to pick up the first transferred medium accommodated in the feed tray. The pickup roller is arranged to overlap with the retaining unit in the array direction.

An electrophotographic image forming device includes a replaceable unit having a housing that includes a top, a bottom, a front, and a rear positioned between a first side and a second side of the housing. The housing has a reservoir for storing toner. A rotatable shaft is positioned within the reservoir and has an axis of rotation. A magnet in the reservoir is movable in response to rotation of the shaft. An engagement member is positioned on an exterior of the top of the housing. The engagement member is aligned with a point in a path of movement of the magnet in the reservoir. The engagement member has a front surface that is unobstructed to contact and push a housing in the image forming device supporting a magnetic sensor to an operating position of the magnetic sensor during insertion of the replaceable unit into the image forming device.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a recording material, a printed circuit board including a voltage generation unit mounted thereon and configured to generate a voltage to be applied to the image forming unit, a conductive member provided on the printed circuit board, to which the voltage generated by the voltage generation unit is applied, an elastic member including an arm portion configured to be biased toward the conductive member, and configured to connect the conductive member and the image forming unit, and a holding unit configured to hold the arm portion of the elastic member at a position where the arm portion is not in contact with the conductive member.

An electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a toner cartridge having a housing that defines a reservoir for containing toner. An exit port in fluid communication with the reservoir faces downward on the front of the housing near a first side. A toner delivery system for transferring toner from the reservoir includes a main interface gear exposed on the front of the housing near the top of the second side. A rearward facing opening is exposed at the rear of the housing near the first side of the housing for receiving a first engagement feature in an image forming device. A forward facing opening is exposed at the front of the housing near the first side of the housing for receiving a second engagement feature in the image forming device. The forward facing opening overlaps with the rearward facing in a side-to-side dimension of the housing.

A toner cartridge according to one embodiment includes a housing having a toner reservoir. An outlet port in fluid communication with the reservoir is positioned on a front of the housing near a first side of the housing. An interface gear is exposed on the front of the housing near a second side of the housing. A magnet is movable in response to rotation of the interface gear. An engagement member is positioned on an exterior of the top of the housing proximate the second side of the housing. The engagement member is aligned with a point in a path of movement of the magnet. The engagement member has a front surface that is unobstructed to contact and push a magnetic sensor in the image forming device to an operating position of the magnetic sensor during insertion of the toner cartridge into the image forming device.

An image reading and recording apparatus includes an image recording unit and an image reading unit supported to be pivotally movable above the image recording unit and configured to be opened and closed by being pivotally moved relative to the image recording unit. The apparatus includes a stay including an opening portion formed thereon, a rotor inserted in the opening portion of the stay, a first cam surface provided on an inner peripheral portion of the opening portion, and a second cam surface provided on an outer peripheral portion of the rotor. The rotor rotates due to abutment of the first cam surface and the second cam surface with each other. The image reading unit is held in a first opened state with a first open angle, due to meshed engagement f the first cam surface and the second cam surface with each other.

An image forming apparatus includes a frame that holds an image forming section and to which at least one substrate that bears a part of functions of the image forming section is attached, the frame being such that, at one side surface to which the at least one substrate is attached of the frame, a width in a vertical direction of a space portion formed between multiple longitudinal shape portions that extend in a horizontal direction between portions of the frame that extend in the vertical direction is larger than a width in the vertical direction of the longitudinal shape portions, in which the at least one substrate includes multiple substrates, at least a part of the multiple substrates are disposed so as to be connected between the portions of the frame that extend in the vertical direction, and, when the frame is divided into two regions by a central line in an imaginary manner in the horizontal direction, of the substrates that are connected, an uppermost substrate and a lowermost substrate in the vertical direction are disposed so as to be positioned at different ones of the two regions.

An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member unit having an image carrying member, a developing unit insertable into and drawable out of the image forming apparatus, and a transfer member. The image carrying member unit is movable between a first position where the image carrying member makes contact with the transfer member and a second position where they are apart. The image carrying member unit or the image forming apparatus has a biasing member that biases the image carrying member unit toward the second position. With the developing unit fitted to the image forming apparatus, the image carrying member unit is at the first position against a biasing force of the biasing member. With the developing unit drawn out of the image forming apparatus, the image carrying member unit is at the second position due to the biasing force of the biasing member.
