An image forming apparatus includes a memory and a processor configured to, when humidity detected by a humidity sensor is equal to or above a preset value with paper sheets stacked in a paper sheet holder being fed to an image forming unit, perform control to set a separation operation time used to separate in a separation operation a single paper sheet from multiple paper sheets stacked in the paper sheet holder to be longer than the separation operation time used when the detected humidity is lower than the preset value.

A controller is configured to execute a larger gamut technology mode in which the controller performs image formation by controlling a ratio of a rotation speed of a development roller to a rotation speed of a photosensitive drum such that the ratio becomes a second speed ratio higher than a first speed ratio in a normal mode. The controller is configured to, when the controller executes the larger gamut technology mode, control transfer voltage based on a humidity around an image forming apparatus.

Provided is an image forming apparatus, including: an image holder configured to hold an image formed using an electrographic process; a transfer body that faces the image holder and is configured to contact the image holder while rotating to form a secondary transfer region; an application unit configured to apply a voltage for charging the secondary transfer region; and a charge unit that faces a region other than the secondary transfer region of the transfer body and is configured to charge a surface of the transfer body with a polarity opposite to an applied voltage of the application unit.

A water content sensor for a recording medium includes a single light emitting part, a wavelength separation device and a detector device. The single light emitting part emits infrared light in a wavelength range including an absorption wavelength of water along one incident light path toward the recording medium. The wavelength separation device separates infrared light, either reflected from or transmitted through the recording medium, into a first light in a first wavelength range including the absorption wavelength of water and a second light in a second wavelength range excluding the first wavelength range. An image forming apparatus according to an aspect of one or more embodiments may include: an image forming part that forms an image; a housing that houses the image forming part and includes an inner wall surface; and a cover attached to the housing so as to be movable between a position close to the housing and a position away from the housing. The cover includes a liquid receiver that receives a liquid getting into the housing, and the liquid receiver is adjacent to the inner wall surface in the state where the cover is close to the housing.

In an image forming apparatus, a print data acquiring unit acquires variable-data-printing print data that includes common document data and insert data. The common document data includes a common part common to plural printed matters. The insert data is for a variable part individually set for each of the plural printed matters. The common document data includes one or plural identifiers; the identifier indicates the variable part, and the insert data includes one or plural values corresponding to the identifier. The variable-data-printing processing unit causes a printing device to perform variable data printing on the basis of print data obtained by replacing the identifier in the common document data with the value. In addition, the variable-data-printing processing unit determines a print sheet corresponding to the value used in the replacement, and causes the printing device to perform the variable data printing using the determined print sheet.

An imaging system includes: a housing; an ionizer including a first electrode and a second electrode and to charge airborne particles contained in the housing; a particle filter collecting charged particles; and a controller changing an amount of a current flowing between the first electrode and the second electrode by electric discharge during a printing operation, in which the controller controls the amount of current based on a print state indicator associated with the printing operation.
