A fixing device includes a body and a cover. The body includes a roller and a positioning projection projecting from the body. The cover is supported on one end side in an axial direction of the roller and has a slot in which the positioning projection is inserted. The cover is configured to pivot on the positioning projection inserted in the slot, from a closed position to a retreated position from the body.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body; a cover member that is provided rotatable in a rotation direction about a rotation axis with respect to the apparatus main body, having an opening part, a fuser that fuses a toner image formed on each medium of media wherein the fuser is attached to the apparatus main body by being inserted through the opening part and detached from the apparatus main body by being pulled out of the opening part; and a sub cover member that has an surface portion and is attached to the fuser, wherein in a state in which the fuser is attached to the image forming apparatus, the surface portion of the sub cover is arranged within the opening part, the sub cover member moves in the rotation direction in correspondence with the rotation of the cover member.

There is provided with a printing apparatus. A printing unit prints an image on a print medium. A heating unit heats the print medium with the image printed thereon. A detection unit detects a temperature of the heating unit. A housing accommodates the printing unit and the heating unit. An openable/closable cover member is provided on the housing and covers the heating unit. A restricting unit is capable of restricting an opening operation of the cover member. A control unit controls the restricting unit so as to execute the restriction if the temperature of the heating unit exceeds a first threshold value, and release the restriction if the temperature of the heating unit is not more than a second threshold value lower than the first threshold value.

A heating device includes a hollow portion that has an endless loop shape in a rotation direction and that has open ends in a rotation-axis direction, at least one heating unit that includes a heat-generating portion and that is inserted in the hollow portion, the heating unit being configured to heat the hollow portion from a space enclosed by the hollow portion as a result of heat generation of the heat-generating portion, and a driving-force transmission unit that is fixed to an end portion of the hollow portion in the rotation-axis direction and that transmits a driving force, which is transmitted to the driving-force transmission unit by a driving source, to the hollow portion so as to rotate the hollow portion, the driving-force transmission unit having an opening that is in communication with an interior of the hollow portion. The heat-generating portion is disposed at a position that does not overlap the driving-force transmission unit in the rotation-axis direction.

There is provided a guide incorporated in a fixing device including a belt configured to circularly move in a moving direction. The guide includes: a guide portion elongated in a longitudinal direction orthogonal to the moving direction; a first gate mark; and a second gate mark arranged spaced apart from the first gate mark in the longitudinal direction. The guide portion includes a resin and a plurality of elongated-shaped fillers dispersed in the resin. The guide portion has a guide surface configured to guide movement of the belt in the moving direction, a peripheral surface of the belt being configured to contact the guide surface.

There is provided a fixing device, in which an operation delay of a safety element is unlikely to occur even if a heater tilts. The fixing device includes a spacer disposed between the heater and the safety element, wherein an area of the spacer in contact with the safety element is smaller than an area of the spacer in contact with the heater, and the spacer is tiltable relative to the safety element.

A fixing apparatus will be described for fixing a toner image on a recording medium. The apparatus includes a heater that is in contact with an inner surface of a film, a restricting member that restricts movement of the film in a longitudinal direction of the film, a connector that is connected electrically to the heater for supplying electric power to the heater, and a lock member that maintains a position of the restricting member and a position of the connector relative to each other.
