Pressing device and image forming apparatus
A pressing device includes an intermediate transfer unit, a secondary transfer unit, a presser, and a drive transmitter. The intermediate transfer unit transfers and conveys a toner image. The secondary transfer unit faces the intermediate transfer unit to form a nip portion between the secondary transfer unit and the intermediate transfer unit and transfers the toner image onto a conveyed material at the nip portion. The presser applies a pressing force for pressing the secondary transfer unit to the intermediate transfer unit at the nip portion. The drive transmitter transmits the pressing force and a conveyance driving force to a driven transmitter of the secondary transfer unit, is restricted in position by the presser, and is movable together with the presser.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body provided with an opening portion, an opening/closing member, a fixing unit, and a moving unit provided in the apparatus body and configured to move the fixing unit from a first position toward a second position above the first position. Movement of the fixing unit from the first position to the second position is restricted in a state in which the opening/closing member is positioned at the closed position and is allowed in a state in which the opening/closing member is positioned at the open position. The moving unit includes a support portion configured to support the fixing unit positioned at the second position such that the fixing unit is attachable and detachable. The support portion extends in a longitudinal direction of the fixing unit and supports the fixing unit from below.

An image forming apparatus comprises an intermediate transfer unit including an intermediate transfer belt and a residual toner collecting container, a belt monitoring unit configured to detect a condition of the lifespan of the intermediate transfer belt, a full state detection unit configured to detect a full state of the residual toner collecting container; and a control unit configured to control an operation of the image forming apparatus based on detection of a full state of the residual toner collecting container by the full state detection unit before the belt monitoring unit detects reaching of an end of the lifespan of the intermediate transfer belt.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A transfer member is supported by a movable unit. A blocking member is movable between a blocking position at which an access path to a first terminal is blocked and an opening position at which the access path is opened. A second terminal is supported by the movable unit. Following movement of the movable unit, a latch mechanism latches the blocking member at the blocking position when the movable unit is located at a separated position and unlatches the blocking member when the movable unit moves from the separated position to a standard position. When the movable unit moves from the separated position to the standard position, the second terminal moves to a position at which the second terminal comes into contact with the first terminal through the access path.

An image forming apparatus includes an opening-and-closing cover that is rotatable around a support shaft with respect to a body of the image forming apparatus. The opening-and-closing cover receives pressure in an opening direction from the body of the image forming apparatus when the opening-and-closing cover is closed and includes a rotation shaft rotatably held, a lock lever, and a pair of holding portions. The lock lever is rotatably disposed on the rotation shaft, is to be locked to or unlocked from a locking portion of the body of the image forming apparatus in conjunction with rotation of the rotation shaft, and includes a pair of held portions at both ends of the lock lever. The pair of holding portions are disposed to sandwich the lock lever from both sides of the lock lever in an axial direction of the rotation shaft and hold the pair of held portions.
Method of assembling a belt conveyance apparatus
A method of assembling a belt conveyance apparatus having an endless belt, a plurality of rollers, a frame, a bearing holder, an urging member, a slider, and a driving gear includes the steps of: in a state without the driving gear mounted to the frame, arranging the slider in a disengaged position; attaching the bearing holder and the urging member to the frame; moving the slider in an engaged position so that it engages with the bearing holder; and attaching the driving gear to the frame so that it meshes with the slider arranged in the engaged position.

There is provided an image forming apparatus including: a second duct unit including a second intake port that sucks air between a fixing unit and a transfer unit, a second exhaust port that exhausts air sucked from the second intake port to the outside, and a second duct that forms a second ventilation passage between the second intake port and the second exhaust port; a second duct fan that is provided in the second ventilation passage and generates an air flow from the second intake port toward the second exhaust port; a filter that is provided in the second ventilation passage and removes fine particles; and a control unit that controls operations of a first duct fan and the second duct fan, in which, in a case where a continuous job is started, the control unit starts the operation of the first duct fan when a conveyance distance of a recording material passing through a fixing nip portion reaches a first predetermined value.
Intermediate transfer unit and image forming apparatus
An intermediate transfer unit includes an intermediate transfer belt, a housing, a grip, and a cover. The housing supports a plurality of stretching rollers stretching the intermediate transfer belt and has a downstream plate in a pull-out direction of the intermediate transfer unit. The downstream plate is orthogonal to the pull-out direction. The grip is on the downstream plate. The cover covers the downstream plate and has a hole to access the grip.

The holding member is movable from a first position to a second position in a state where the door is positioned at the open position, the first position being a position at which the holding member overlaps with an attachment-and-detachment trajectory of the detachable unit, the second position being a position at which the holding member does not overlap with the attachment-and-detachment trajectory of the detachable unit and allows the detachable unit to be attached to and detached from the apparatus body.
