In an apparatus including a setting portion arranged at an external cover as being capable of setting a sheet bundle from the outside, the setting portion includes a opening, a setting face on which sheets inserted through the opening are placed, and an abutting-regulating face which performs positioning of end edges of the sheets inserted, the opening is arranged at an open-close cover of the external cover, and the abutting-regulating face are arranged at an apparatus frame which is located at the inner side of the open-close cover.

A sheet characteristic detection device includes: a detector that is disposed on a sheet ejection path through which a sheet is ejected and that detects an electrical resistance value of the sheet; and a charge neutralizer that is disposed on a downstream side of the detector on the sheet ejection path and that neutralizes electric charge on the sheet.

A finisher for binding a sheet bundle includes a conveying portion for conveying sheets, a stacking portion for stacking the sheets, a manual setting portion to which the sheet bundle is inserted by an operator, a stapler having a head at a front portion thereof for binding the sheet bundle by a staple and a cartridge at a rear portion for housing the staple, a stapler moving unit for moving the stapler to a first stapling position for binding a corer portion of the sheet bundle, a second stapling position for binding the sheet bundle inserted into the manual setting portion and a staple loading position for removing the cartridge and replenishing a new cartridge, and a moving unit for rotating the stapler to a posture such that the rear portion rather than the front portion of the stapler is located at a front side in the depth direction.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming part, a discharge tray, a reading part, a biasing support part, and a turning regulating part. The discharge tray is disposed above the image forming part. The reading part is turnably supported on an upper portion of the image forming part between a closed position and an opened position. The biasing support part biases the reading part from the closed position toward the opened position. The turning regulating part is engaged with the reading part disposed at the closed position and regulates a turning of the reading part, which is applied with a biasing force of the biasing support part, toward the opened position. When the medium is discharged from the image forming part to the discharge tray, the turning regulating part is disengaged with the reading part, and allows the turning of the reading part toward the opened position.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion configured to fix a toner image to a recording material, a housing which accommodates the image forming portion and the fixing portion and in which a conveyance path that the recording material passes through is formed, and a discharge portion configured to discharge the recording material.
