Viewer tracking in a projection system
A method for displaying a hologram to a variable direction including using circuitry to determine a direction from a holographic projector to a viewer for projecting a hologram to a viewer, and projecting a hologram in the determined direction, in which the projecting the hologram includes reflecting from a same mirror as the determining the direction of the viewer, and the circuitry controls the projecting the hologram to a direction corrected for a difference in direction between a projecting unit and a tracking unit relative to the mirror. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
Holographic Laminate and the Tube Made Thereof
A laminate that may be used to store a product such as a toothpaste, various food items, lotions, etc. The laminate includes a reflective metal layer, a hologram layer, and an outer film interposed between the reflective metal layer and the hologram layer, wherein the outer film is transparent or translucent. The formation of the hologram layer can be performed at a lower temperature that the formation of other laminate structures so as not to damage the hologram. The laminate may be used as a tube wall, and can provide a self-sealing side seam.
Flexible package with tamper-evident anti-counterfeiting label and method of making the same
A flexible package having a tamper evident product authentication label secured thereto and methods of making the same are provided. The package includes at least one panel having a heat seal line. The label has an outer surface with authentication indicia appearing thereon and an inner surface adhesively secured to the package adjacent the heat seal line. The label includes peripheral portions that are frangible, with one of the frangible peripheral portions of the label being located within a portion of the area made up by the heat seal line. Accordingly, attempted removal of the label from the package will cause the label to tear, leaving at least a portion of the peripheral edge of the label secured to the package to thereby prevent reuse of the label.
Applying holographic effects to prints
Lighting information comprising at least the reflectance data of a plurality of regions of an object surface is generated and printed out as a series of relightable holograms. Each of the printed holograms comprises the reflectance data of a corresponding region of the object. A model of the object is generated such that the model also comprises a plurality of portions corresponding to the regions of the object surface. The series of holograms are each affixed to a portion of the model such that a particular hologram of the series which encodes the reflectance data of a particular region of the object is affixed to the corresponding portion of the model. In an embodiment, the model of the object is generated from a metal. The series of holograms is engraved directly onto the metallic model such that a particular hologram of the series which encodes the reflectance data of a particular region of the object is engraved onto the corresponding portion of the metallic model.
Method for forming a hydraulic transfer film, hydraulic transfer film, and patterned article
A method for forming a hydraulic transfer film includes: (a) forming a water-soluble sacrificial layer on a water-soluble substrate; (b) forming a first holographic pattern on the water-soluble sacrificial layer; (c) forming a pattern forming layer on the water-soluble sacrificial layer such that the pattern forming layer is formed with a second holographic pattern on a surface that contacts the first holographic pattern and being complementary to the first holographic pattern, the pattern forming layer having a water-soluble region and an oil-soluble region; (d) forming an oil-soluble base layer on the pattern forming layer; and (e) forming an activating layer that is on the oil-soluble base layer and that includes a curable activating agent.
HOLOGRAPHIC PROXIMITY SWITCH
A vehicle switch is provided that includes a substrate. A holographic film is positioned on the substrate. A first light source and a second light source are configured to emit a light onto the film and a proximity switch assembly is positioned on the substrate. The holographic film is configured to create a projected image above the holographic film.
Illumination device and image recording medium
[Problem] A penlight used for decoration or as a flashlight for the purpose of illuminating the surroundings lacks functionality for optimal enjoyment of a hologram, and no conventional illumination device for a hologram has decorative effect. [Solution] The present invention has a hologram support unit, a light source, and a light diffuser, and by primarily irradiating the light diffuser from the light source, decorative effect is increased, and primarily a hologram image region can be illuminated from a predetermined angle from the same light source or a different light source. Appropriate observation is made possible by making note to an observer on a portion of a medium material integrated with a hologram material whether to irradiate illuminating light from above or irradiate illuminating light from below.
Illuminated cup holder
A vehicle cup holder includes a console substrate defining a cup well. A light source is positioned proximate the cup well. An insert is positioned within the cup well and defines a base wall and a side wall, wherein at least one of the base wall and the side wall defines a diffraction grating.
Hologram module, display device having the same and wearing device having the same
A hologram module includes a phosphor layer and a rainbow hologram sheet. The phosphor layer has a phosphor array structure. The rainbow hologram sheet has a first display layer and a second display layer. The first display layer is disposed on the phosphor layer and has a first barcode array corresponding to the phosphor array structure. The second display layer is disposed on the first display layer and has a second barcode array corresponding to the first barcode array. The phosphor array structure, the first barcode array and the second barcode array are chromatic. A color of the phosphor array structure meets with a color combined by the first barcode array and the second barcode array so as to display a hologram image converted from light emitted by the phosphor array structure via the first and second barcode arrays.
Case with illusory design elements
A case having the appearance of 3D design elements embedded therein. The case generally comprises a back panel which incorporates a plurality of layers with impressions or recesses formed thereon. When aligned, the impressions create an optical illusion as if actual objects are embedded in the back panel of the case where no actual object is present. And a method of producing an optical illusion of embedded design elements in a case including the steps of forming a first panel with at least one first impression formed on a first side of the first panel, applying a reflective coating to the at least one first impression, forming a second panel, and joining the second panel to the first side of the first panel.
