CONTEXT DEPENDENT PROJECTION OF HOLOGRAPHIC OBJECTS

A computing device associated with a user obtains contextual data associated with the user. The contextual data includes information indicating a current location of the user relative to the computing device. The computing device selects one or more applications provided by the computing device based on results of an analysis of the contextual data, and projects one or more holographic objects representing the one or more applications into a viewable area located a predetermined distance from the user.

HOLOGRAPHIC USER INTERFACE FOR MOBILE MENU ITEM SELECTION

A method, system, and computer program product for holographically displaying and navigating data content of a mobile device is provided. The method may include retrieving data content comprising an arrangement of data objects, wherein a size of the data content exceeds a predetermined threshold. Visualized data content may be generated based on the data content. The visualized data content is rendered for display by holographic projection with respect to on-screen data content, displayed by a touchscreen of the mobile device.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display device including a flat display unit configured to output a planar image, a hologram generation unit configured to output a hologram image, and a controller for acquiring the holographic image with respect to at least a portion of the planar image.

CHANGING TACTILE SENSITIVITY OF INTERACTIONS WITH MIDAIR INTERFACES

A reflection is captured of a subsonic signal reflected by a contact surface. The contact surface is contacting a simulated surface of an object projected from a midair interface (MAI) device. A difference between the subsonic signal and the reflection is converted into a measurement of a flow in the contact surface. When the measurement is in a range of measurements, a change is caused in a temperature of a volume of a medium, the simulated surface being projected in volume of the medium, where the change in the temperature causes a second change in the flow in the contact surface.

Computer ball device for mixed reality, virtual reality, or augmented reality

Implementations of various computer methods to couple a computerized ball device which acts as a mobile computing device to record the users environment and project light towards waveguide eyeglasses or contacts which then allows a user to view imbedded light structure holograms in the waveguide while viewing the actual world. The computer ball device additionally has the ability to be docked in a drone cradle which creates a database map of the user's environment while not being utilized by the user for an immediate task. The device may also attach to a wrist band for mobility. The device also has the ability to couple the projected light structures so that a plurality of users may view the same light structure content to build an environment of trust. The device decouples the traditional design of head mounted virtual and mixed reality that place together the camera with the head mounted device.

Method and system for simulation of forces using holographic objects

The disclosure is directed to simulating forces using holographic objects. A method according to embodiments includes: generating an invisible holographic object, the invisible holographic object providing a haptic effect; displaying a visible holographic object; aligning the visible holographic object and the invisible holographic object to provide a visible and touchable combined holographic object, the combined holographic object providing the haptic effect; applying a force to the combined holographic object, the applied force causing a displacement of the combined holographic object and including an amplitude and direction; and adjusting the haptic effect of the combined holographic object to generate an adjusted haptic effect representative of an effect of the applied force on the combined holographic object.

Interaction with holographic image notification

Embodiments for interaction with holographic image notifications by a processor. A notification to a user is displayed on an electronic device as a holographic image along a secondary field of view (FOV).

Method and Apparatus for Producing an Acoustic Field

A plurality of control points (10) are defined which each have a known spatial relationship relative to an array of transducers. An amplitude is assigned to each control point (12). A matrix (16) is produced containing elements which represent, for each of the control points, the effect that producing a modeled acoustic field having the assigned amplitude with a particular phase at the control point has on the consequential amplitude and phase of the modeled acoustic field, at the other control points (14). Eigenvectors of the matrix (18) are determined, each eigenvector representing a set of phases and relative amplitudes of the modeled acoustic field at the control points. One of the sets (20) is selected and the transducer array is operated to cause one or more of the transducers to output an acoustic wave each having an initial amplitude and phase such that the phases and amplitudes of the resultant acoustic field at the control points correspond to the phases and relative amplitudes of the selected set (22, 24).

Holographic projections for securing content

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for generating a holographic masking surface to obscure content displayed on a user device from view of third parties. At least one of a gaze direction of a user of the user device or a direction of interaction of the user with the user device is detected and user interaction data indicative thereof is generated. A set of holographic projectors to activate is then determined based at least in part on the user interaction data, and a holographic masking surface is generated at least in part by activating the set of holographic projectors. A gaze direction of a third party proximate to the user device may also be determined such that the holographic masking surface is generated when the third party is viewing or potentially can view the display of the device and the content being displayed is confidential in nature.

Methods and systems are described for improved techniques for consuming and interacting with media content. Specifically, a media guidance application may present a holographic structure using a holographic interface. Moreover, the media guidance application may monitor the user and/or area about the holographic interface for user interactions that may cause the media guidance application to alter the holographic structure based on a user interaction. The media guidance application may also after altering the holographic structure, generate for display a media asset associated with the holographic structure.
