Method and apparatus for producing an acoustic field
The present invention concerns a method and apparatus for the modulation of an acoustic field for providing tactile sensations. A method of creating haptic feedback using ultrasound is provided. The method comprises the steps of generating a plurality of ultrasound waves with a common focal point using a phased array of ultrasound transducers, the common focal point being a haptic feedback point, and modulating the generation of the ultrasound waves using a waveform selected to produce little or no audible sound at the haptic feedback point.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY FOR LOW INVENTORY
Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for a store shelving system which can use a scale, a laser tracking system, or other mechanisms for determining how much product remains on the shelf. When the amount of product remaining on the shelf is below a threshold amount, or when the shelf inventory is exhausted, the store shelving system can deploy (1) a hologram of the product, such that customers or store associates in the aisle next to the shelf see the hologram of the product in the location where the product would be if it were available; (2) a user interface which can provide information about the product; or (3) both the hologram of the product and the user interface.
DISPLAY SYSTEM
A display system includes: a display screen having a first display area; a processor configured to modulate laser beams to be emitted from a laser projector according to a pre-stored holographic image data source to obtain modulated laser beams; the laser projector configured to project the modulated laser beams to create a first holographic image in front of the first display area; and at least one photodetector configured to collect first gesture information about a first gesture through which the first holographic image is controlled by a viewer. The processor is further configured to generate a first control signal according to the first gesture information, and re-modulate the laser beams to be emitted from the laser projector, so as to create a second holographic image corresponding to the first control signal.
INTERACTION WITH A PROJECTED VIRTUAL CHARACTER USING TOUCH PANEL
This application includes an interactive control method and apparatus, a storage medium, and an electronic device. In this method, apparatus, storage medium, and device, a touch operation performed on a touch panel is recognized. A holographic projection device is configured to display a holographic projection-based virtual character. The touch panel is disposed on the holographic projection device. An interaction request is generated according to the recognized touch operation. The interaction request corresponds to an interaction with the holographic projection-based virtual character. Further the holographic projection-based virtual character is controlled to perform an interactive action associated with the interaction request.
System and method for rendering interactive aerial volumetric graphics and generating spatial audio using femtosecond lasers
A plasma generator including: a femtosecond light source that generates a laser pulse beam; a processor that computes a computer generated hologram; a spatial light modulator that modifies the laser pulse beam in accordance with the computer generated hologram; a three dimensional scanner optically coupled to the spatial light modulator to direct the modified laser pulse beam to one or more focal points in air; and a lens that focuses the modified laser pulse beam. The modified laser pulse beam induces a light emission effect at a one or more focal points that can be visible, audible, and palpable.
Holographic keyboard display
Embodiments that relate to displaying holographic keyboard and hand images in a holographic environment are provided. In one embodiment depth information of an actual position of a user's hand is received from a capture device. The user's hand is spaced by an initial actual distance from the capture device, and a holographic keyboard image is displayed spatially separated by a virtual distance from a holographic hand image. The user's hand is determined to move to an updated actual distance from the capture device. In response, the holographic keyboard image is maintained spatially separated by substantially the virtual distance from the holographic hand image.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DISPLAYING HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGES WITHIN A REAL OBJECT
A system for displaying a holographic image of an object behind a real object surface, including a computing unit for computing data for displaying a three-dimensional image of an object, a location measurement unit for measuring a location of a surface of a real object, a display for displaying the three dimensional image of the object, wherein the computing unit is adapted to compute data to display the three-dimensional image of the object at least partly behind the surface of the real object. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SIMULATION OF FORCES USING HOLOGRAPHIC OBJECTS
The disclosure is directed to simulating forces using holographic objects. A method according to embodiments includes: generating an invisible holographic object, the invisible holographic object providing a haptic effect; displaying a visible holographic object; aligning the visible holographic object and the invisible holographic object to provide a visible and touchable combined holographic object, the combined holographic object providing the haptic effect; applying a force to the combined holographic object, the applied force causing a displacement of the combined holographic object and including an amplitude and direction; and adjusting the haptic effect of the combined holographic object to generate an adjusted haptic effect representative of an effect of the applied force on the combined holographic object.
VIRTUAL CONTROL DEVICE AND SYSTEM
A virtual control system that includes a control unit, a gesture recognition device, and a hologram generation device. The hologram generation device is configured to generate a hologram in a first volume of space. The gesture recognition device is configured to recognize a proper gesture within the first volume of space. The control unit is configured to send a signal to a component to be controlled when the gesture recognition device recognizes the proper gesture.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISPLAYING MEDIA ASSETS ASSOCIATED WITH HOLOGRAPHIC STRUCTURES
Methods and systems are described for improved techniques for consuming and interacting with media content. Specifically, a media guidance application may present a holographic structure using a holographic interface. Moreover, the media guidance application may monitor the user and/or area about the holographic interface for user interactions that may cause the media guidance application to alter the holographic structure based on a user interaction. The media guidance application may also after altering the holographic structure, generate for display a media asset associated with the holographic structure.
