The optical device includes a light source configured to generate a light beam, and a spatial light modulator (“SLM”) configured to modulate the light beam to provide a hologram for generating a display image. The optical device includes a polarization-selective steering assembly configured to provide a plurality of steering states for the modulated light beam. The optical device includes an image combiner configured to focus the modulated light beam steered by the polarization-selective steering assembly to generate an array of spots at an eye-box of the optical device.
Symphotic structures
Systems and methods for designing, optimizing, patterning, forming, and manufacturing symphotic structures are described herein. A symphotic structure may be formed by identifying a continuous refractive index distribution calculated to convert each of a plurality of input reference waves to a corresponding plurality of output object waves. The continuous refractive index distribution can be modeled as a plurality of subwavelength voxels. The system can calculate a symphotic pattern as a three-dimensional array of discrete dipole values to functionally approximate the subwavelength voxels. A symphotic structure may be formed with a volumetric distribution of dipole structures. A dipole value, such as a dipole moment (direction and magnitude) of each dipole is selected for the volumetric distribution to convert a plurality of input reference waves to a target plurality of output object waves.
System, apparatus and method for extracting three-dimensional information of an object from received electromagnetic radiation
An apparatus and method to produce a hologram of an object includes an electromagnetic radiation assembly configured to receive a received electromagnetic radiation, such as light, from the object. The electromagnetic radiation assembly is further configured to diffract the received electromagnetic radiation and transmit a diffracted electromagnetic radiation. An image capture assembly is configured to capture an image of the diffracted electromagnetic radiation and produce the hologram of the object from the captured image.

HIGH LUMINANCE PROJECTION DISPLAYS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Projection displays include a highlight projector and a main projector. Highlights projected by the highlight projector boost luminance in highlight areas of a base image projected by the main projector. Various highlight projectors including steerable beams, holographic projectors and spatial light modulators are described.
Digital 2D holographic spectrometer for material characterization
A tool including a dispersive spectrometer deployable within a wellbore is provided. The dispersive spectrometer includes a waveguide layer to detect electromagnetic radiation according to wavelength. The dispersive spectrometer also includes a plurality of detector elements disposed along the waveguide layer to detect electromagnetic radiation associated with a portion of the wavelength of the electromagnetic radiation. A method for using the tool in a subterranean application is also provided.
PHASE IMAGING APPARATUS, PHASE IMAGING METHOD
A spatial modulator is provided on a plane conjugate to a sample plane on which a sample is to be placed. The spatial modulator spatially modulates illumination light irradiated to the sample 2 or object light that has passed through or that has been reflected by the sample. A dark-field optical system removes the non-scattered light component of the first object light affected by the spatial light modulator so as to generate second object light. An image sensor records a hologram based on the second object light. A calculation processing apparatus combines complex amplitude information based on the modulation pattern supplied to the spatial light modulator and complex amplitude information based on the hologram with respect to the second object light so as to acquire a phase distribution originating from the sample.

The system may also include a processor coupled to the display device to receive a first prescription corresponding to a first user and a second prescription corresponding to a second user, and to modulate the display device so that the first user at a first angle and the second user at a second angle can view a non-distorted image from the display device.
Method and apparatus for processing holographic image
A method of generating hologram data in a holographic display apparatus, including a hologram processing device generating hologram data and a display terminal reconstructing a hologram image in a three-dimensional (3D) space on the basis of the generated hologram data, includes generating depth map image data from input image data by using a deep learning engine for generating a depth map and calculating a complex value hologram on the basis of the depth map image data and the input image data to generate the hologram data.
