Laser modulation
A holographic image generation system including a spatial light modulator; a light source; a temporal modulator; a light sensor and a demodulator. The spatial light modulator has pixels. The light source illuminates the spatial light modulator. The temporal light modulator modulates an output intensity of the light source over time to encode holographic data representing a hologram. The light sensor is associated with a spatial light modulator and receives light from the light source and generates a signal representative of the output intensity of the light source. The demodulator is connected to the light sensor to receive the signal. The demodulator decodes the signal to obtain the holographic data. The demodulator is connected to the spatial light modulator to set the pixels of the spatial light modulator in accordance with the holographic data to display the hologram ready for illumination by the light source to form a holographic reconstruction.
MOBILE HOLOGRAM APPARATUS
A mobile hologram apparatus is disclosed. An example apparatus includes a sheet folded along preformed creases into a pyramid structure configured to be actuated between a compressed state and an uncompressed state. The pyramid structure has a base section and a top section connected by four side sections. The pyramid structure in the compressed state has a height that is less than 1/10th the height of the pyramid structure in the uncompressed state. The apparatus also includes an elastic band connected to a perimeter of the base section of the pyramid structure and configured to cause the pyramid structure to self-actuate from the compressed state to the uncompressed state.
Projection type image display apparatus
A laser beam (L50) generated by a laser light source (50) is reflected by a light beam scanning device (60) and irradiated onto a hologram recording medium (45). On the hologram recording medium (45), an image (35) of a scatter plate is recorded as a hologram by using reference light that converges on a scanning origin (B). The light beam scanning device (60) bends the laser beam (L50) at the scanning origin (B) and irradiates the laser beam onto the hologram recording medium (45). At this time, scanning is carried out by changing a bending mode of the laser beam with time so that an irradiation position of the bent laser beam (L60) on the hologram recording medium (45) changes with time. Regardless of an irradiation position of the beam, diffracted light (L45) from the hologram recording medium (45) produces a reproduction image (35) of the scatter plate on the spatial light modulator (200). The modulated image of the spatial light modulator (200) is projected onto a screen (400) by a projection optical system (300).
Projection
An image projector arranged to project an image onto a display plane. The image projector comprises a processing engine, a display device, an optical element and a light source. The processing engine outputs a computer-generated diffractive pattern comprising a hologram of an image for projection and a lens function corresponding to a lens having a first optical power. The display device is arranged to display the computer-generated diffractive pattern. The optical element is disposed between the display device to the display plane. The optical element has second optical power. The light source is arranged to provide off-axis illumination of the display device in order to spatially-modulated light in accordance with the hologram and lens function. The lens function of the computer-generated diffractive pattern and the optical element collectively perform a hologram transform of the hologram such that a reconstruction of the image is formed on the display plane.
LASER PROCESSING DEVICE AND LASER PROCESSING METHOD
A laser processing apparatus includes a spatial light modulator for inputting laser light output from a laser light source and outputting laser light after phase modulation by a hologram, and a control unit for presenting, on the spatial light modulator, the hologram for focusing the laser light after the phase modulation output from the spatial light modulator on a plurality of irradiation points in a processing object by a focusing optical system. The control unit sets at least one of a shape and a size of a processing region defined by the irradiation points in a first plane intersecting an optical axis of the laser light and a processing region defined by the irradiation points in a second plane intersecting the optical axis and separated from the first plane in a direction of the optical axis to be different from each other.
Colour Optimisation for Direct View
A projection system arranged to receive an image for projection. The image is a colour image comprising a first colour component and a second colour component. The system is arranged to calculate a first hologram of the first colour component and a second hologram of the second colour component. The system is further arranged to add content of the second colour component to the first colour component before calculating the first hologram. The first hologram contains information of the first colour component and information of at least a portion of the second colour component. The system is further arranged to form a first holographic reconstruction by illuminating the first hologram with first colour light and to form a second holographic reconstruction by illuminating the second hologram with second colour light. The first holographic reconstruction changes the chromaticity of the at least a portion of the second colour component.

VIDEO COMMUNICATION INCLUDING HOLOGRAPHIC CONTENT
A video communication system uses a light field display to present a holographic image of a remote scene (e.g., a hologram of a remote participant). The system may include a local light field display assembly and a controller. The controller generates display instructions based on visual data corresponding to a remote scene received from a remote image capture system (e.g., a remote light field display system). The display instructions cause the local light field display assembly to generate a holographic image of the remote scene.
