Described is a device for holding portable computing devices at a register of a retail store. The device for holding portable computing devices includes an elongate member with a first end and a second end. The first end has a coupler that couples to a pole. The second end is coupled to a register. In some embodiments, the elongate member includes a rod portion and a flat bar portion. The coupler couples the rod portion to the pole. The flat bar portion is coupled to the register. The rod portion is sized to conveniently receive portable computing device couplers so that the portable computing devices can be repeatably and removeably hung from the rod portion. Customers who have used the store's scanners while shopping can hang their borrowed scanner on the device when they are done using the scanner.

Embodiments of the disclosure can include systems and methods for providing articulating point-of-sale (POS) apparatuses or devices, such as displays. In one embodiment, an articulating point-of-sale (PUS) display assembly may include a base and a movable arm attached to the base. The movable arm may be configured to move from a first position to a second position with respect to the base. The assembly may further include a pivotable display device attached to the movable arm. The pivotable display device may be configured to pivot from a third position to a fourth position with respect to the movable arm. The assembly may also include an arm joint attaching the movable arm to the base, and a pivot joint attaching the pivotable display device to the movable arm.

Alternatively, the cavity can become refrigerated when a detachable refrigerated cooling cartridge is used to refrigerate the internal display area, thus allowing the cabinet to be easily and interchangeably used as either a dry goods cabinet for non-refrigerated goods or as a refrigerator for refrigerated goods.

The combination of a shopping cart and a checkout location. The shopping cart has a wheeled frame defining: a) a primary article storage receptacle; and b) a lower storage shelf. The checkout location has: a) an aisle through which the shopping cart can be directed and with laterally spaced sides; b) a processing assembly at one side of the aisle; c) a station at which a person can be situated to operate the processing assembly; and d) a mirror on the other side of the aisle situated so that a person situated at the station can observe a reflection of articles placed on the storage shelf. The mirror has a reflective surface configured and located to reflect an image of the shopping cart only below the top of the shopping cart from a vantage point of a person situated at the station.

RECEPTION SYSTEM FOR RECEIVING OBJECTS

A reception system for receiving objects comprises at least one reception device for receiving objects, a conveyor device, which has at least one conveyor belt section for conveying objects in a conveyance direction in the at least one reception device, and a sensor device, which is arranged on the at least one reception device, for detecting objects in the at least one reception device. It is provided in this case that the sensor device is designed to emit sensor signals along different signal paths over the reception device, to conclude a fill level of the reception device on the basis of an interaction of at least one of the sensor signals with objects conveyed into the reception device. In this manner, a reception system for receiving objects is provided, which enables further automation, in particular in the conveyance of objects into a reception device.

Conveyor safety shield for point-of-sale system

A point-of-sale system is provided including a conveyor that moves an item downstream and/or upstream, a shelf positioned above the conveyor, a defined zone below the shelf and a shield positioned between the conveyor and the shelf. The shield deters the item from moving to the defined zone when the conveyor is moving the item upstream. A method of conveying an item and methods of retrofitting a point-of-sale system are also provided.

Universal mobile device mount

A universal mobile computing device mount comprises a body, a clamp arm, and an insertable electrical connector. The clamp arm is extendible from, and resiliently biased towards, the body, and is configured to engage an edge surface of a mobile computing device. The insertable electrical connector is pivotably mounted in the clamp arm. The electrical connector is pivotable relative to the clamp arm to promote angular alignment of the electrical connector with a complementary electrical receptacle in the edge surface of the mobile computing device during mounting of the mobile computing device into the universal mobile computing device mount.
