A holographic display apparatus includes a backlight unit having a light source configured to emit coherent light, a spatial light modulator configured to diffract incident light from the backlight unit and generate a holographic image, a beam deflector configured to change a traveling direction of the incident light from the backlight unit to change a focal position of the holographic image, an eye-tracking sensor configured to recognize positions of a viewer's eyeballs, and a controller configured to perform, in real time, calibration of the eye-tracking sensor and the beam deflector to focus the holographic image on the recognized positions of the viewer's eyeballs.

Apparatus and method for performing in-line lens-free digital holography of an object

Embodiments described herein relate to lens-free imaging. One example embodiment may include a lens-free imaging device for imaging a moving sample. The lens-free imaging device may include a radiation source configured to emit a set of at least two different wavelengths towards the moving sample. The lens-free imaging device is configured to image samples for which a spectral response does not substantially vary for a set of at least two different wavelengths. The lens-free imaging device may also include a line scanner configured to obtain a line scan per wavelength emitted by the radiation source and reflected by, scattered by, or transmitted through the moving sample. The line scanner is configured to regularly obtain a line scan per wavelength. Either the radiation source or the line scanner is configured to isolate data of the at least two different wavelengths.

The embodiments of the present invention provide a display system and a display method. The display system includes a projection unit and an eye tracking unit. The projection unit includes a projection light source, a projection lens and a spatial light modulator. The projection lens is located between the projection light source and the spatial light modulator. In a direction of an optical axis of the projection lens, the projection lens includes a first lens portion overlapping with the spatial light modulator and a second lens portion not overlapping with the spatial light modulator. The eye tracking unit includes a camera. An imaging optical path of the camera passes through the second lens portion. The display system and the display method provided by the embodiments of the present invention can be advantageously used in the display field including holographic display, simplifying the optical design, and providing a compact and efficient optical system.

Each controller is arranged to output the computer-generated hologram to the spatial light modulator. The optical system is arranged to relay each light pattern from the replay plane. The optical system comprises an input, output and at least one mirror. The input is arranged to receive light of each light pattern. The output is arranged to output light of each light pattern. The at least one mirror is arranged to guide light from the input to the output along an optical path. The light pattern formed by the first display channel is an infrared light pattern. Each light pattern is a holographic reconstruction.
