Method of detecting a scan avoidance event when an item is passed through the field of view of the scanner
Methods of detecting scan avoidance events are disclosed herein. An example method includes measuring, by a weighing scale associated with a barcode reader, an unstable weight over a timeframe having a duration that is greater than a threshold duration. The method further includes monitoring for (i) the barcode reader's failure, during the first timeframe, to transition from a first state in which an imager of the barcode reader does not transmit images for decoding to a second state in which the imager captures images over an FOV including a product scanning region and transmits the captured images for decoding; or (ii) the barcode reader's failure to decode a barcode from images captured over the FOV including the product scanning region during the first timeframe; and generating an alert indicating a potential scan avoidance event responsive to both the measured unstable weight over the timeframe and one of (i) or (ii).
SYSTEM FOR WHEELCHAIR-BASED NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION (NFC) PAYMENT EXTENSION AND STANDARD
A payment facilitating and processing system includes a payment terminal. The payment terminal includes a processor and a first receiver. The first receiver is configured to communicate with the processor. The payment facilitating and processing system further includes a second receiver, which is also configured to communicate with the processor. The payment facilitating and processing system still further includes a mobility assistance device including a transmitter. The transmitter is configured to receive payment information from a payment apparatus and transmit the payment information to the second receiver upon positioning of the transmitter in close proximity to the second receiver.
Mounting System for Industrial Digital Barcode Reader
Scanning assemblies are disclosed herein. An example scanning assembly includes a slot scanner and a mounting system. The slot scanner includes an imaging assembly configured to capture an image frame appearing in a field of view (FOV) and a housing having a cavity configured to accommodate the imaging assembly. The mounting system includes a flange member at least partially surrounding an opening formed within the mounting system, and at least two support arms extending from the flange. The at least two support arms engage a portion of the housing of the slot scanner to retain the slot scanner within the opening formed by the flange.
OCCLUDED ITEM DETECTION FOR VISION-BASED SELF-CHECKOUTS
Item recognition of a given item is trained on a single item from different views. The item recognition is then trained on images of the given item partially occluded by a second item having same, similar, or different shapes and features to that of the given item. General features of the item are noted and used to detect the given item when the given item is presented with multiple different items having multiple different occluded views.
Digital module built-in desk
A digital module built-in desk to be placed at a location where business transactions between a clerk and a customer are performed is provided. The desk includes a desk body including an upper plate having a customer-side desk portion providing a space for the customer; a customer digital module mounted in the customer-side desk portion, the customer digital module including a tablet through which information necessary for the business transactions is inputted; and a clerk digital module provided in the side of the clerk-side desk portion, the clerk digital module including a monitor for displaying information necessary for the business transactions.
RETRACTABLE SELF-SANITIZING DIVIDER ASSEMBLY
A self-sanitizing divider assembly is provided. The assembly includes a planar structure comprising a first surface, a sanitization system and a divider. The sanitization system may include a housing having an interior volume with an opening on one side of the housing, wherein the housing is coupled to the planar structure. The sanitization system may also have a moveable sanitizing members, wherein the sanitizing members move in response to activation of the sanitization system. The divider may be coupled within the housing with a portion of the divider extending through the opening of the housing to extend away from the first surface of the planar structure or may be coupled adjacent the opening of the housing and extending away from the first surface of the planar structure. The sanitization system automatically sanitizes the divider with sanitization solution during movement of the sanitizing members after activation of the sanitization system.

Configurable and modular transaction terminal
A terminal is provided. The terminal includes a horizontal touch-based operating surface, a first vertical support side car, and a second vertical support safe enclosure. The operating surface includes integrated transaction devices that perform transaction processing on the terminal. The operating surface can be dynamically switched between a self-service mode of operation, an assisted service mode of operation, and a teller-service mode of operation. Each mode of operation dynamically orients displayed information on the operating surface to a particular side or both sides of the operating surface and selectively activates and deactivates the integrated devices.
