Method for observing a sample
A method for observing a sample includes illuminating the sample with a light source and forming a plurality of images, by an imager, the images representing the light transmitted by the sample in different spectral bands. From each image, a complex amplitude representative of the light wave transmitted by the sample is determined in a determined spectral band. The method further includes backpropagation of each complex amplitude in a plane passing through the sample, determining a weighting function from the back-propagated complex amplitudes, propagating the weighting function in a plane along which the matrix photodetector extends, updating each complex amplitude, in the plane of the sample, according to the weighting function propagated.
METHOD OF DISPLAYING A HOLOGRAM ON A DISPLAY DEVICE COMPRISING PIXELS
There is provided a holographic projector comprising a hologram engine and a controller. The hologram engine is arranged to provide a hologram comprising a plurality of hologram pixels. Each hologram pixel has a respective hologram pixel value. The controller is arranged to selectively-drive a plurality of light-modulating pixels so as to display the hologram. Displaying the hologram comprises displaying each hologram pixel value on a contiguous group of light-modulating pixels of the plurality of light-modulating pixels such that there is a one-to-many pixel correlation between the hologram and the plurality of light-modulating pixels.
METHOD FOR FORMING A HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGE BY LENSLESS IMAGING
A device and method for forming an image of a sample includes illuminating the sample with a light source; acquiring a plurality of images of the sample using an image sensor, the sample being placed between the light source and the image sensor, no magnifying optics being placed between the sample and the image sensor, the image sensor lying in a detection plane, the image sensor being moved with respect to the sample between two respective acquisitions, such that each acquired image is respectively associated with a position of the image sensor in the detection plane, each position being different from the next; and forming an image, called the high-resolution image, from the images thus acquired.
OPTICAL FILM
An optical film including a recording surface on which a plurality of unit blocks is disposed at regular intervals. For these unit blocks, phase components of light from a reconstruction point are calculated. The recording surface includes a calculated element region provided with an array of the unit blocks for which phase components of light from the reconstruction point are calculated for reproduction of an image. A first image is a monotone reconstruction image having even brightness, and a second image is a grayscale image having brightness gradation.
Spatial light modulator
A liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator comprising an array of light-modulating pixels and a controller are disclosed. Each light-modulating pixel of the array comprises liquid crystal and is associated with a respective flip-flop. The controller receives a hologram of an image comprising a plurality of hologram pixels. Each hologram pixel comprises a respective n-bit hologram pixel value. The controller drives each light-modulating pixel in accordance with a respective hologram pixel value of the hologram. There is a one-to-n pixel correlation between the hologram and the light-modulating pixels. The flip-flops of each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels are connected in series to form a shift register. During operation of the shift register, the n-bit hologram pixel value associated with each contiguous group of n light-modulating pixels is provided to each light-modulating pixel one bit at a time over the course of at least n clock cycles.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HIGH-QUALITY SPECKLE-FREE PHASE-ONLY COMPUTER-GENERATED HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGE PROJECTION
The present invention relates to a system and method for high quality speckle-free phase-only computer-generated holographic image projection. The present invention more particularly relates to a holographic image display system comprising a spatial light modulator to phase modulate light from at least one light source configured to illuminate said spatial light modulator and to provide a phase hologram and projection optics to project said phase modulated light to generate an image formed by said displayed hologram onto an image plane.
Near-to-eye display device with variable resolution
A near-to-eye display device includes a spatial light modulator and a microdisplay. The spatial light modulator provides a high-resolution focused image for central vision. The microdisplay provides a low-resolution defocused image for peripheral vision. The display has a large field of view.
Operation method for digital hologram implementation device
Provided is an operation method for a digital hologram implementation device including a backlight and a spatial light modulator, the operation method including setting an initial phase value of an optical signal to a remedy phase, computing a reduced phase based on the remedy phase, correcting the remedy phase based on a difference between the reduced phase and a preset optimized phase, determining whether the corrected remedy phase is a stabilized phase, performing forward propagation on the stabilized phase and an amplitude of the optical signal, correcting the amplitude of the optical signal, performing backward propagation on the corrected amplitude and the stabilized phase, and determining whether a phase derived by the backward propagation is an optimized phase.
