Timer for monitoring lapse of time relative to a total amount of allowed time
A timer to monitor lapse of time relative to a total amount of allowed time includes: a body and a foot on or of the body, a sensor; a processor connected to the sensor and configured to monitor a lapse of time; and an output device connected to the processor. The processor is configured to control the output device to generate a signal at least indicating the monitored, lapsed time relative to the total amount of allowed time. The sensor is configured to indicate whether the timer rests on the foot; and the processor is configured to monitor the lapse of time, during which it is indicated by the sensor that the timer rests on the foot, and stop or pause to monitor the lapse of time, when the timer rests not or not only on the foot. The processor is configured to control the output device.
Switch module for electronic crown assembly
A switch module for an electronic device detects translational inputs and defines at least portion of a conductive path from an input surface of the electronic device to a processing unit of the electronic device. The switch module may be a component of a crown assembly for detecting rotational inputs, translational inputs, touch inputs and/or biological signals such as electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. The switch module may include a conductive dome and a friction guard that is positioned between the conductive dome and the actuation member of the crown assembly. The conductive dome and/or the friction guard may define at least a portion of the conductive path from the input surface to the processing unit.
Wearable gesture detector
A wearable gesture detector includes a wristband with a plurality of pressure-sensitive conductive pads coupled to the wristband. The pressure-sensitive conductive pads are configured to detect epidermal deformations caused by muscular contraction or extension during a hand gesture. The wearable gesture detector further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the pressure-sensitive conductive pads. The controller is configured to collect hand gesture data samples based on the epidermal deformations detected by the plurality of pressure-sensitive conductive pads.
Detecting a gesture made by a person wearing a wearable electronic device
An electronic device that can be worn on a limb of a user can include a processing device and one or more position sensing devices operatively connected to the processing device. The processing device can be adapted to determine which limb of the user is wearing the electronic device based on one or more signals received from at least one position sensing device.
Display apparatus and image displaying method
Disclosed are a display apparatus and an image displaying method, which can increase a battery usage time. The display apparatus includes a display including a screen for displaying an image; and a controller configured to provide the display a first user interface (UI) for selecting at least one among a plurality of regions in the screen, provide the display a second UI for adjusting a displaying position of the image to be displayed on at least one region selected through the first UI, and control the display to display the image at the displaying position adjusted through the second UI, and make the other regions of the screen except the region where the image is displayed be in a power-saving mode. According to the present invention, it is possible to not only increase a battery usage time but also display information at a position desired by a user.
SWITCH DEVICE AND TIMEPIECE
A switch device including a base member provided with a stem insertion hole, an operation member which has an engaging groove provided in an outer circumferential surface thereof, and is slidably and rotatably inserted into the stem insertion hole of the base member, a stopper member having an engaging portion which is arranged in the engaging groove of the operation member and moved along with sliding of the operation member, and a release member which releases the engaging portion from the engaging groove, in which the release member includes a pressing portion which is operated from one surface side of the base member so as to release the engaging portion from the engaging groove.
Wearable terminal and control method
A wearable terminal includes: a body having a display that performs display, a sensor that detects a first angle of rotation by which the display has been rotated with respect to a first axis as an axis of rotation, and a controller that controls the display according to the first angle of rotation; and a band that is connected to the body and extends around the forearm in an arcuate shape, wherein the first axis is perpendicular to a second axis and is parallel to a direction in which the forearm extends, when the first angle of rotation is within a first angle range, the controller causes a first display image displayed, and when the first angle of rotation changes the first angle range to a second angle range, the controller causes a part of the first display image and a part of a second display image simultaneously displayed.
Conductive cap for watch crown
An electronic device, such as a watch, has a crown assembly having a shaft and a user-rotatable crown. The user-rotatable crown may include a conductive cap that is mechanically and electrically coupled to the shaft and functions as an electrode. The conductive cap may be coupled to the shaft using solder or another conductive attachment mechanism. The shaft may electrically couple the conductive cap to a processing unit of the electronic device. One or more additional electrodes may be positioned on the exterior surface of the electronic device. The conductive cap is operable to be contacted by a finger of a user of the electronic device while another electrode is positioned against skin of the user. The processing unit of the electronic device is operable to determine a biological parameter, such as an electrocardiogram, of the user based on voltages at the electrodes.
Interacting with an electronic device through physical movement
The present disclosure generally relates to interacting with an electronic device without touching a display screen or other physical input mechanisms. In some examples, the electronic device performs an operation in response to a positioning of a user's hand and/or an orientation of the electronic device.
