Compressible seal for rotatable and translatable input mechanisms
An electronic device has a housing and a rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The housing has an aperture and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism has a shaft positioned at least partially within the aperture and a manipulation structure coupled to the shaft. The manipulation structure may be manipulated to rotationally and translationally move the shaft to provide rotational and translational input to the electronic device. A compressible seal is positioned in a gap between the housing and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The compressible seal may resist and/or prevent passage of contaminants into the aperture and/or obscure one or more internal components. The compressible seal may be configured to collapse or bend when the rotatable and translatable member translates.
Push-piece winding button control device for a portable object of small dimensions
A push-piece winding button control device is for a portable object of small dimensions. This device includes a pivoting control stem axially movable between at least a transitory first position and a stable second position. The device further includes a position indexing plate arranged to be integral in translation with the control stem, while keeping the same orientation relative to the frame. The device also includes a cam follower arranged to cooperate with a longitudinal cam path formed in the position indexing plate. The cam path includes a recess defining the stable position of the control stem, and a ramp-shaped profile portion which rises from the recess towards the transitory position.
Method for providing visual effects according to bezel-based interaction and electronic device for same
An electronic device and a method of operating the electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a rotating input module, a display, and a processor configured to detect an event, detect an interaction by the rotating input module, determine a first object associated with the event based on the interaction, and display, on the display, a visual effect associated with the first object.
PUSH BUTTON AND TIMEPIECE
Disclosed is a push button including: a module that has a fixed contact part which is able to contact and separate from a movable contact part; an elastically deformable dynamic contact member that is supported in a cantilever state with a base part fixed to the module, and that has the movable contact part electrically contactable with the fixed contact part; and an operation receiving member that makes the movable contact part contact the fixed contact part by having one end acting on an acting portion. The movable contact part is arranged out of (i) a line connecting the acting portion and the base part and (ii) an extended line thereof, the dynamic contact member has a first movable part and a second movable part, the acting portion is arranged in the first movable part, and the movable contact part is arranged in the second movable part.
SWITCH DEVICE AND TIMEPIECE
A switch device including a base member provided with a stem insertion hole, an operation member which is slidably inserted into the stem insertion hole of the base member and has an engaging groove provided in an outer circumference surface, a stopper member having an engaging section which is arranged in the engaging groove of the operation member and moved along with sliding of the operation member, and a separation regulation section which prevents the engaging section from being separated from the engaging groove, in which a leading end portion of the engaging section is positionally regulated toward axial center of the operation member by the separation regulation section when the operation member is pulled toward the outside of the base member.
CAPACITIVE GAP SENSOR RING FOR AN INPUT DEVICE
An input mechanism for a portable electronic device includes a rotational manipulation mechanism, such as a cap or shaft. The input mechanism also includes a sensor having first capacitive elements coupled to the manipulation mechanism, second capacitive elements, and a dielectric positioned between the first and second capacitive elements. Movement of the manipulation mechanism alters the positions of the first and second capacitive elements with respect to each other and is determinable based on capacitance changes resulting therefrom. In some implementations, the second capacitive elements may be part of an inner ring or partial ring nested at least partially within an outer ring or partial ring.
Capacitive gap sensor ring for an electronic watch
An input mechanism for an electronic watch includes a rotational manipulation mechanism, such as a cap or shaft.
CONDUCTIVE CAP FOR WATCH CROWN
An electronic device, such as a watch, has a crown assembly having a shaft and a user-rotatable crown. The user-rotatable crown may include a conductive cap that is mechanically and electrically coupled to the shaft and functions as an electrode. The conductive cap may be coupled to the shaft using solder or another conductive attachment mechanism. The shaft may electrically couple the conductive cap to a processing unit of the electronic device. One or more additional electrodes may be positioned on the exterior surface of the electronic device. The conductive cap is operable to be contacted by a finger of a user of the electronic device while another electrode is positioned against skin of the user. The processing unit of the electronic device is operable to determine a biological parameter, such as an electrocardiogram, of the user based on voltages at the electrodes.
WEARABLE DEVICE, AND NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AND NOTIFICATION METHOD THEREOF
A wearable device, and a notification system and a notification method thereof are provided. The wearable device includes a rotatable ring, multiple switches, and a communication module. The wearable device obtains a control signal by rotating the rotatable ring to trigger part of the switches, and transmits a mode signal to an electronic apparatus in response to the control signal. After receiving the mode signal, the electronic apparatus switches to a corresponding mode.
Coherent Mixing Interference Based Sensors for Characterizing Movement of a Watch Crown
An electronic watch includes a housing, a user-operable watch crown mounted to the housing, an electromagnetic radiation source emitting a beam of electromagnetic radiation toward a watch crown surface, and a sensor. The beam of electromagnetic radiation depends on a coherent mixing of electromagnetic radiation within a resonant cavity of the electromagnetic radiation source. The coherent mixing includes a mixing of a first amount of electromagnetic radiation generated by the electromagnetic radiation source and a second amount of electromagnetic radiation redirected into the resonant cavity by the watch crown surface. The sensor measures a first parameter of the beam of electromagnetic radiation and determines, using the measurement of the first parameter, a value of a second parameter characterizing movement of the watch crown. The second parameter may include a direction of rotation or speed of rotation of the watch crown, or other parameters.
