Illuminated Time-Passage Indicator
A time-passage indicator device can comprise a housing, a plurality of light elements located inside the housing, a window comprising an inner and an outer surface, and a processor that controls the plurality of light elements. Some devices also contain a touch sensor, and the processor controls the light elements based upon signals from the touch sensor. The window can be attached to the housing and diffuses or scatters the light from the plurality of light elements. The light elements can emit light through the window forming an illuminated region viewable by a user. The processor can control the light elements such that the illuminated region changes to indicate the passage of time. The illuminated region can be viewable from all angles between 10 degrees and 90 degrees, where the angle of 90 degrees corresponds to a normal viewing angle.
Electronic Devices With Display Burn-in Mitigation
An electronic device such as a wristwatch device or other device may have a display. The display may be used to continuously display information such as watch face information. A watch face image on the display may contain watch face elements such as watch face hands, watch face indices, and complications. To reduce burn-in risk for watch face elements, control circuitry in the electronic device may impose burn-in constraints on attributes of the watch face elements such as peak luminance constraints, dwell time constraints, color constraints, constraints on the shape of each element, and constraints on element style. These constraints may help avoid situations in which static elements such as watch face indices create more burn-in than dynamic elements such as watch face hands.
Timepiece, method of display control, and storage medium
A timepiece includes one or more processors; and a display unit controlled by the one or more processors. The one or more processors perform: obtaining a clock hand image; obtaining positional information indicating a location of the timepiece; and controlling the display unit to display a map image that includes the location of the timepiece and to display the clock hand image superimposed onto the map image in such a rotated manner as to indicate a time, a center of rotation of the clock hand image being set at the location of the timepiece in the map image.
Liquid crystal control circuit, electronic timepiece, and liquid crystal control method
A liquid crystal controller is provided for a liquid crystal panel having a plurality of pixels, each of which includes a memory element and a display element. The memory element is configured to hold electric potential depending on an image signal and is configured to change the held electric potential based on activation of an enable signal. The display element is configured to be applied voltage depending on the electric potential which the memory element holds. The liquid crystal controller is configured to: hold off outputting the enable signal, for a period th before polarity of AC voltage applied to the display element is inverted and a period (tr+ts) after the polarity of the AC voltage is inverted; and hold off inversion of the polarity of the AC voltage, for an output period of the enable signal and the period th after the output period.
