An alarm clock includes a microcontroller, a display unit, an audio output unit, ten numeric keys and a functional key. Upon determining that a long-press operation is performed on one of the numeric keys that corresponds to a weekly alarm setting, the microcontroller performs a weekly alarm setting procedure for the corresponding weekly alarm setting. In the weekly alarm setting procedure, the microcontroller sets an alarm time based on some numeric keys that are pressed in a time-setting stage, and sets an alarm day based on at least one numeric key and the functional key that are pressed in a day-setting stage. Then, the microcontroller displays the alarm time and the alarm day on the display unit.

An electronic apparatus includes an outer case, and a piezoelectric element mounted to an inner surface of the outer case and configured to impart vibration to the outer case due to deformation in correspondence with an applied voltage and to generate a voltage corresponding to deformation due to a shock imparted to the outer case. An induction element applies an increased voltage to the piezoelectric element, a first switch performs control as to whether or not to supply an electric current from a power source to the induction element, a second switch effects connection or disconnection between the induction element and the piezoelectric element, and a shock detection unit to detects a shock imparted to the outer case based on the voltage generated in the piezoelectric element.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISABLING SLEEP ALARM BASED ON AUTOMATED WAKE DETECTION

Techniques are disclosed for facilitating disabling an alarm in response to particular types of activity-indicative data. More specifically, activity-indicative data (e.g., measurements obtained by an electronic device) can be detected prior to a preset alarm time. Upon determining, based on the activity-indicative data, that a wakefulness condition is satisfied, the alarm can be disabled such that the alarm stimuli is not to be presented at the preset alarm time.
