Port control
A locator of a surgical port of a surgical robot system, the surgical robot system comprising an instrument attached to a robot arm, the instrument having an instrument shaft able to pass through the surgical port to a surgical site, the locator comprising: an interface configured to couple to the surgical port; a mechanism configured to permit relative linear and/or rotational motion of the interface and the instrument shaft; and a controller comprising a processor operable to estimate the position of a part of the robot arm, the controller configured to control the mechanism in dependence on the estimated position of the part of the robot arm such that as the robot arm retracts the instrument from the patient, the locator moves the port away from the robot arm and provides a reaction force to keep the port in place.
Viewpoint invariant visual servoing of robot end effector using recurrent neural network
Training and/or using a recurrent neural network model for visual servoing of an end effector of a robot. In visual servoing, the model can be utilized to generate, at each of a plurality of time steps, an action prediction that represents a prediction of how the end effector should be moved to cause the end effector to move toward a target object. The model can be viewpoint invariant in that it can be utilized across a variety of robots having vision components at a variety of viewpoints and/or can be utilized for a single robot even when a viewpoint, of a vision component of the robot, is drastically altered. Moreover, the model can be trained based on a large quantity of simulated data that is based on simulator(s) performing simulated episode(s) in view of the model. One or more portions of the model can be further trained based on a relatively smaller quantity of real training data.
Moving robot
Disclosed is a moving robot including: a voice input unit configured to receive a voice input of a user; a first display capable of receiving a touch input; a second display larger than the first display; and a controller configured to perform control such that a screen to be displayed in response to the voice input or the touch input is displayed on at least one of the first display or the second display based on a type and an amount of information included in the screen, and accordingly, it is possible to provide information and services more effectively using the two displays.
System provisioning using virtual peripherals
A method of provisioning a system includes defining one or more virtual peripherals such that each of the virtual peripherals corresponds to a respective device; identifying one or more enabled virtual peripherals; and identifying one or more control modules. Each of the control modules includes one or more terminals for connecting to one or more devices. The method further includes linking each of the enabled virtual peripherals to a respective terminal of the one or more control modules to form a link; generating a provisioning configuration that represents the link between the respective terminal and the corresponding one of the enabled virtual peripherals; and writing the provisioning configuration to each of the control modules. The method further includes connecting the respective device to the respective terminal consistent with the link between the respective terminal and the corresponding one of the enabled virtual peripherals.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DISTRIBUTING AND EXECUTING LOADABLE EMBEDDED SOFTWARE EXTENSIONS IN INDUSTRIAL CONTROLLERS
Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to industrial controller firmware. More specifically, some embodiments relate to systems and methods for developing, deploying, and executing loadable embedded software extensions that expand controller functionality beyond that of what is available in a controller's base firmware. Systems and methods described herein provide for a firmware extension development environment, a firmware extension repository, a firmware extension deployment interface, and various firmware extension executions models. During execution of a control program within an industrial controller, when directed by the logic of the control program to perform an external function, industrial controller firmware may call an external component provided by an extension developed in accordance with the present disclosure to perform the external function.
SEAMLESS WIRELESS CONNECTION DURING COMMISSIONING OF NETWORKED BUILDING CONTROLLERS
A portable handheld device pairs with a first building control device, to form a first wireless connection. The portable handheld device receives information about a second building control device via the first wireless connection, at least some of the information is received by the first building control device from the second building control device over a building control network before the first building control device provides at least some of the received information to the portable handheld device via the first wireless connection. The portable handheld device sends one or more messages to the first building control device via the first wireless connection, wherein the one or more messages cause the first building control device to communicate with the second building control device via the building control network to initiate a commissioning and/or maintenance process of the second building control device.
Engagement, homing, and control of robotics surgical instrument
The disclosed embodiments relate to systems and methods for a surgical tool or a surgical robotic system. A tool driver is coupled to a distal end of a robotic arm and includes a roll drive disk driven by a rotary motor. One or more processors are configured to detect an attachment of a surgical tool to the tool driver. The surgical tool includes a roll tool disk to be engaged with the roll drive disk of the tool driver, actuate of the roll drive disk through the rotary motor, determine that a measured torque of the rotary motor exceeds a preset torque threshold for a preset period of time since the actuation, and report a successful engagement between the roll drive disk and the roll tool disk.
Light device and a lighting system
A lighting device comprising a controller arranged to convey a cryptographic message to a load indicative of an instruction for said load to consume an amount of power during a selected time-interval; determine the power consumed during said selected time-interval and determine a condition indicative of an unauthorized load when said determined power is different from one which is expected.

Numerical controller
A numerical controller includes an activation unit that builds a memory map according to settings when the power is on; a change detection unit that detects an operation requiring reconstructing of the memory map; a task control unit that, when the operation is detected, performs a stopping process of a task being operated; and a memory map control unit that, after the task has stopped, acquires a backed up memory, reconstructs the memory map according to the setting, and compares the reconstructed memory map and the backed-up memory map, and resets information required for operating the task again such as a program counter.
