A purge device capable of appropriately purging a container while saving purge gas includes a first purge nozzle that supplies a purge gas to a container to be purged, an internal state detector capable of detecting an internal state of the container before a purging process with the first purge nozzle is started, and a purge determiner that determines purge conditions for the container based on a detection result from the internal state detector.

Building HVAC system with multi-level model predictive control

A heating, ventilation, or air conditioning (HVAC) system for a building includes indoor subsystems, a high-level controller, and low-level controllers. Each indoor subsystem includes one or more indoor units configured to provide heating or cooling to one or more building spaces. The high-level controller generates a plurality of indoor subsystem energy targets, each indoor subsystem energy target corresponding to one of the plurality of indoor subsystems and generated based on a thermal capacitance of one or more building spaces to which heating or cooling is provided by the corresponding indoor subsystem. Each low-level indoor controller corresponds to one of the indoor subsystems and generates indoor setpoints for the one or more indoor units of the corresponding indoor subsystem using the indoor subsystem energy target for the corresponding indoor subsystem and operates the one or more indoor units of the corresponding indoor subsystem using the indoor setpoints.

SENSOR-BASED INTERRUPTION OF AN IRRIGATION CONTROLLER

Some embodiments provide a system and method for interfacing with an irrigation controller based on rainfall, the system comprising: an interface unit including a housing and a control unit within the housing and configured to: cause an interruption of one or more watering schedules executed by the irrigation controller, which is separate from the interface unit, based on signaling received from a rain sensor including hygroscopic material, when a sensed expansion of the hygroscopic material is above a set rainfall accumulation threshold parameter, the rain sensor being separate from the interface unit and the hygroscopic material being configured to expand in response to being contacted by the rainfall and to contract in response to an absence of the rainfall; and remove the interruption after a completion of a predetermined interval of time after a sensed contraction of the hygroscopic material indicative of a rainfall stop.

FAUCET INCLUDING A WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE

An electronic faucet including a wireless module facilitating remote control of an electrically operable valve. Illustratively, the wireless module includes a body defining a fluid passageway in fluid communication with the electrically operable valve, and a receiver configured to receive wireless signals from a remote transmitter. The remote transmitter may comprise a voice recognition and conversion device to facilitate voice control of the electrically operable valve.

Breaker device for acting onto a closure element of a medical tubing

A breaker device (1) for acting onto a closure element (40) of a medical tubing (4) comprises a drive arrangement (2) having an electric drive device (20) and a drive element (23) driven by the drive device (20), and a breaker module (3) which is arrangeable on the drive arrangement (2). The breaker module (3) comprises a housing (30), a movable part (31) movably arranged on the housing (30) and a breaking element (315) for acting onto the closure element (40) of the tubing (4), wherein the breaker module (3) in an attached state is placed on the drive arrangement (2), the drive element (23) being in operative connection with the movable part (31) in the attached state such that a movement of the drive element (23) causes the movable part (31) to move for actuating the breaking element (315). A control device (5) serves for controlling the electric drive device (20) for driving the drive element (23). Herein, the control device (5) is constituted to control, during a detection routine, the electric drive device (20) to drive the drive element (23) in order to move the movable part (31), wherein the control device (5) is further constituted to analyse at least one feedback signal received during the detection routine for determining a type of the breaker module (3), the feedback signal being indicative of a movement of the movable part (31) during the detection routine.
